NEW TEX GAME - What Can Each of us Do?

Gee, thanks, Chris. I think.

Oh yea, I also live near San Francisco (about 30 mins away). I'm sure that could come in handy, somehow...
As of Sunday, I'll have my Bachelors in Computer Science and in Mathematics. So, I'm confident that I'm an excellent programmer, but I also know I have a severe lack of time, issue. I'll do what I can, should this ever take off.

Congratz on the degree, as most software engineers, you will never have enough time for anything, I know I don't, infact, I think may have found a way to cross into a subspace time continueum in order to make MORE time for things I don't have tim to do.... its very taxing on your life force, but it seems to work well. some of the effects, however include short term memory.. um.......

What was i talking about?

Personally, I think if we're going to do any sort of Tex project, it should not be Chance, Trance or Polarity. That's AC's bad boy, and I'd hate to want to step all over his sunshine.

(Analagoies for the win!)

However, perhaps I can take my story and convert it to more of a game form?

Well, I could always dish up a Tex story but I believe Aaron should tell his story the way he wants. Storyline material for a game should come from him.

I've just recently started a degree in Game and Simulation Programming so somewhere down the road I'd probably be available for something.

I agree with Vracar. I think if we do this, it should be Mr. Connors calling the shots. Story and overseeing (bad pun...) the project should be his lookout.

I'd be down with using your story, Vracar! Did you ever finish it?
Nah, I've only finished the first third. The rest is outlined and ready to be typed, once my procrastinating fingers get to it.

I totally agree that Aaron should call the shots, especially if this were to end up being something big...but if a real game gets planned, do we think that we would be the ones working on it? I'm not so sure of that, though it is a wonderful thought. I do think however, that if we got some of our own fan fiction and created our own 'version (not ripoff) of a TM game and popularized it through the web (3d/flash hybrids are coming into being and coming strong), perhaps we can spark interest etc, etc, tell me what you think...

Ya know, maybe releasing it on the web would be the cheapest way of getting published - we wouldn't need a publisher!

I'm not sure what engines or systems are available to use to do this, but 3D on the web is out there. Or maybe downloadable but played over the web?

Maybe create something that if it takes off for free over the web, we could get someone to decide to give us a real project. Maybe another "to be continued" story and the big project will finish it up?
