Cub got a new monitor!
Introducing my brand spanking new Dell 2405 FPW 24" LCD Flat Panel Display!

The image quality is AMAZING
So darn sharp and clear I can almost smell those tulips.
It's kinda late at the moment and I have not had a chance to test all all the bells and whistles, but I will eventually. I am so happy with it so far.
Cant wait to try some Tex'in with this baby!

It's a nice display, for sure, except the aspect ratio is wrong for the Tex games. Depending on how the screen's set up, they will either be the correct dimensions within the monitor, and the parts to the left and right of the screen go unused, or the entire image will be zoomed across the whole width, stretching it horizontally.
I'm personally very happy with my 20.1 inch 4:3 ViewSonic VP201b, thanks.
Just a quick question - what's the pixel response on that?

Response is 12ms.
Also, I am aware that the aspect ratio is incorrect for Tex games... but I am happy to letterbox the 4:3... and of course, zoom for the cutscenes perhaps.
What I love is the range of inputs it has:
D-sub
DVI-D
Component
Composite
S-Video
Each of these inputs are also suppored by PIP (Picture In Picture) which means that I can bring up a little mini window of my PC in the corner when I am watching TV or DVDs and check my mail without missing a beat.
Not to mention more USB ports and a 9-in-1 card reader... which comes in handy as I am always getting shots of my camera (like these shots).

Nice Rig Mike!
Lol @ the use of Dell logos/badging... they do like to advertise their stuff.
Despite what epople say, Dell some some good work for the consumer market. Whislt, of course, the performance market is a bit different, for the average user I would always recommend a Dell. their prices and customisation of their machines is really good. And their monitors are amazing quality.
I am sure having the 19" LCD screen really help with reading the text. I guess, after getting used to an LCD display it is hard to go back to CRT monitors. Before I got this new monitor, I had a normal 21" CRT... so when I would come home from work (I used an LCD at work) I would swtich on my CRT and say to myself "man, that's blurry"... even though it wasn't... but compared to an LCD it was no where near as good.
Also, LCDs are much better for your eyes... as they do not need to refresh the image 60+ times a second... they only update the pixels that are in use... which means no flicker, no strain and of course, no burn in! Unlike CRTs and Plasmas, that latter of which burns in REALLY easily.
The only thing I am still gettin used to on this new monitor is the extra distance I have to move the mouse to get aroun the screen!

Congrats with your new monitor, Cub !
It sure does look great, as well as having great specs.
You are (all) right about the huge qualityimprovements in the LCD-area, its been my experience aswell. I changed my Compaq 19" CRT for a Samsung SyncMaster LCD not too long ago, and I really dont wanna go back to CRT for anything.
Fortunately, the bigger LCD screens have become affortable lately..
Dr. Ruth once said "size doesn't matter" ... or was it Martha Stewart ? Anyway, they're both wrong.
