Sound and lock-up problems Pandora & UAKM

I don't have a problem setting the Digital or the MIDI sound in Pandora or UAKM. The problem occurs after I click on "OK" to get back to the main Configuration screen - the screen comes up without a problem, but then it locks-up, making it necessary to do a Ctrl, Alt, Delete to reboot my PC. Any suggestions? Please!

Running - Windows ME
Sound card - Mad Dog Predator 5.1 (SoundBlaster compatible)
Video card - Radeon X300 Series
Pentium 4
512 MB RAM
