Security card disappears in Overseer

Just when I got past the chandelier issue, this happens! I try to use the security card in the control room, and nothing happens. Then, I go back to the study and the security card is there! The second time I grab it, it doesn't show up in inventory. Any ideas?

Running a PIII 866MHz, ATI Radeon 9200. CD-version.
I can send you a saved game with the security card in the inventory. Other than that I can't think of anything else.

I'll try it. I looked over previous posts, and couldn't find that anywhere. Are the older posts still available somewhere? At the time I read them, I hadn't made it far enough for them to make sense. Now that I'm finally that far in the game, the posts are gone.

Anyway, please send saved game. I'll try it and see if I can get past it.

Thanks, Nilo. That got me to Alcatraz. I just switched over to the DVD version of the game, thanks to the DVDExpress being available again. I have no idea if that made a difference or not.

I thought I'd done everything possible at Gideon's house, but I may have missed something. I'll check it out with my saved games.
