Is there anything I can do??

Hello All!

I've been a Tex fan since the release of UAKM and just recently found my old copies of each game in the basement after a six year hiatus. After I had first played Overseer (and found out there was little chance of a new game) I packed them away and *almost* forgot about them.
Anyhow - with the help of this forum I managed to get Overseer up and running smoothly again and for that I want to thank you guys.

However, I can't seem to successully run Pandora, or UAKM regardless of having tried DosBox 0.62 with D-Fend, and then having tried running them from XP with VDMS sound.

Something seems to go wrong which ever way I try. Using the DosBox method, I am able to install both games, but I try to run them, I either get a black screen, or a sound device detection pop up appears and then the game locks up.

When trying to use the VDMS option from Nilo's place, following his tutorial verbatim, I can't seem to run the VDMS installer, as a pop up states that I don't have the necessary .ini file?

Any advice at all on these matters would be greatly appreciated!
There were real problems trying to run all tex games under windows XP. I think Cubase may have found a solution to some of it but I can't remember. Try PMing him.
read the thread called "under a kiling moon" which should be below this one at the moment. I've shared a couple .rar archives which should contain everything to run the games in windows xp - however some have complained that UAKM doesn't work, but I guess it depends on your system. The .ini file missing doesn't happen to be autoexec.ini does it? if it is, it means you have sp2 installed. I've included a file in my archives called xp_fix which should place the autoexec file in the right spot. that error is just another attempt of microsoft to move away from it's dos-based operating system. good luck.

Just a quick note to express my gratitude! Thanks to you both for posting a reply :)
