My girlfriend is from Spain so she got me into it with the match against Spain and France...France won and we were dissapointed, but I found out that I like soccer.
So now we are rootin for France because we really like Zidane [old people kick ass] And they just won thier game today against Brazil which was a minor upset. So thats cool and all.

but serously i have only wacthed the matches of the netherlands My home country and well i must say its say how they got kicked out but thats live.

I've watched almost all games of this years World Cup and I must say that there have been a few really good games, but mostly pretty boring and tactical games.
Seeing as how I'm from Denmark, I've grown up with soccer as a main sport, so I'm used to watch it and I also have high expectations to certain matches, when I know the match has incredible teams playing against eachothers. I must say though that a lot of games have disappointed me a bit while a lot of games also got me cheering.
First of all - I'm glad we're going to have a European World Cup winner this year as Brazil lost to France in the quarter finals. That apart I'm a bit sad to see that Spain didn't go further than they did seeing as how they played some really nice soccer throughout the tournament. Italy played well against Ukraine but poorly against Australia - I thought it was a real pity that Australia didn't go through to the quarter finals! I hope we will see a final with Germany and France and then have Germany win it all. They deserve it since they've played the best throughout the entire tournament in my view!

Very true Netroam... I wanted Australia to go through too, after all, the Italian team already have enough Oscars.
I have been watching this world cup closely too, and am very chatty on the subject (being a soccer player myself for over 13 years)... but I get really 'into' the sport and I figure it would be a bad move to subject you folks to 'Wold Cup Cub', which is somewhere between a rock and a hard place. And so all I will say is, I have been watching the cup, getting into it and am a little annoyed at the way it is panning out, especially considering the bad deal everybody have given Australia.
Either way, it has been interesting, and I hope Germany goes through, because after their performance against Australia, Italy can go to hell.

I have not been watching World Cup Soccer (or any TV sports for that matter.) I just got home (12 hour drive) from the US Fencing Association Summer Nationals Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia.
I've been down there watching fencing all week plus I was the armorer for my daughter, who was competing. The armorer, FYI, takes care of and repairs the equipment which can suffer quite a bit of abuse in a bout.
The tournament is actually still going on, and although my daughter qualified for some of the upcoming Thursday and Friday events, we couldn't stay that long because of my sick parents, so we came home today.
There were some amazingly good fencers there, including several Olypians. We had a fabulous time.

I live together with two soccer-suckers, so... Even if I'm not interested, the occasional "YAAAAY F***ING GOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!" kinda keeps me informed of whatever progress is made. Almost as good as watching it

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
OK game but I would rather have seen Germany proceed rather than Italy. I don't like the Italian way of playing. So defensive, so boring and so much Hollywood-like behaviour (hence they try to get free kicks even though they aren't fouled). That's just not the right spirit of soccer to play like that, so I sincerely hope that France will win the final even though I could suspect that Italy might get a 1-0 victory.
