I am getting this error in pandora it starts when I am in the evidence room & continues through out the game.

running under win 98se, although I did also get this error under dos box with win xp, thats why I installed another hard disk & installed 98 on it for my tex games. I thought this error was related to a video driver but I am not sure now.

Found a post on google re UAKM with the same errors, but it was a bit hard to follow as it was a french forum. What I could gather they were talking about cd virtual drives which is what I am using & another posts indicated memory problems.

when this error comes up its purple writing & sometimes pandora page is still on the screen.

I hope someone can help me
I don't bother with the DOS4GW extender bundled with the Tex games anymore.

DOS32A is faster, more efficient, doesn't crash as often (at least for my system) and uses anything up to 2GB of RAM - compared to the 64MB of DOS4GW.

http://download.narechk.net/dos32a-912-bin.zip

The zip contains a utility (SB.EXE) that can unbind DOS4GW from the TEX3 and TEX4 executables for use with DOS32A. Once I did that, the 'Extended Memory Available' in the config tab in UKM and PD now reads '258380k'. It also loads and runs faster due to code optimizations for newer than Pentium systems and does not crash with the above messages. 8)

Whenever I try to run Pandora Directive, the game immediately freezes up and refuses to respond to any commaqnds (e.g. alt + tab, ctrl alt delete, etc.) I get the following error message:
The ialmrnt5 display driver stopped working normally. To restore display settings, restart your computer.
and then offering me the chance upon rebooting it to send an error report. I run the game in XP under the command prompt. Is there anything that could help me? No other problems occur, just the screen locking up and the error message.

Did you try updating your video driver?

will do.
Okay. Still didn't work. I'm a bit nervous about running it in DosBox because the same problem might occur.

It would help to know what your computer specs are.

Is Pandora the only game you have had this problem with? Also, there's no harm in trying DOSbox.

If you are running XP SP1 then go here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;328071

It doesn't say anything about this problem occurring with SP2. So, if you haven't already done so, then it may be to your benefit to download SP2 from Microsoft.
