Sorry to be a pest, but...

...I'm getting a LOT of file errors while playing Overseer, whether I use CDs or DVD. I can actually finish the game, but I miss most of the video sequences. Notice I said most, not all. Strangely enough, I get video scenes early in the game, but some time after the Anasazi ruins the video stops and file errors appear. I have downloaded all the patches and DVD Express and the Win.fix download, but I'm still having problems! Thanks for any help offered.

Are the error messages the same in the CD and DVD version? Do these error messages just state "file errors"? - Can you be a little more specific?

Yes, when playing both versions. Here's a sample:
File Error
File DDATA\ROI\ROI.077 not found.

The others are variations of this message. It causes the game to skip most of the FMV scenes and just skip right to conversation choices.

Those files are located on your DVD\CD's! So, the problem just might be that you need to clean your disc's, or if that doesn't correct the problem, and you have another DVD drive then try your DVD version in it. Or if you have another CD drive then try your CD version in that drive.

Well, I got past my first visit with Gideon without any file errors. But, when I went to see Jorge Valdez the errors began again. I'm using a brand new set of CDs, so I don't think that is the problem.

Also, I didn't see Sonny die or any of the vids at the Big Surf Lodge. Any more suggestions? Thanks!

Maybe your Hard Disc is faulty. Try to scan it for defect sectors.
Data errors, such as you have been getting, occur when there is interference with the laser from your CD Player\ DVD Player and the data on the disc. The problem is either the disc or the player. And being that you said "I'm using a brand new set of CDs, so I don't think that is the problem." then it is probably the DVD Player\CD Player. The only thing I can suggest is to try using a laser lens cleaner, such as one from Allsop.
