Overseer - WIN XP, Machine locks up during video !!!

System specs would be helpful. As would the list of audio devices in use and current video driver.

Now the problem with sound is gone, but i have another huge problem - every single time i am having a conversation with any of the characters, what happends is this - when i ask something, on which they can supply me with the useful info, everythig is ok. As soon as i ask something, which they have no idea about, my computer locks up and the only option at that point i have is to completely restart the machine and get back to the same place. I already restarted it, like 15 time in last 10 minutes!!! Please help me, maybe someone also had that problem??? Thank you!!!

Which DVD decoder are you using?

no, now its worse..it locks up even during regular video, not even during the conversations, like before... i cannt believe this

and by da way, if i download one dvd decoder, can i keep other dvd decoders in my pc or i have to uninstall others? Also - is dvd decoder the same thing as mpeg2 decoder?

also - can u please tell me what means "configure dvd player" in game? I went into configuration, found dvd express, chose it as my primary item, started game and guess what - dat crap locked up on me again! It always lockes up now before i have to go to linsky warehouse... PLEASE HELP!!!

Ok, video locks up all the time, i cannt even go trough the first video, where Tex dont wanna show himself to Chelsee... i have tryed EVERY item in my configuration and NONE of them works ok. Guess DVDexpress works sort of ok, but it also locks up...I had just reinstalled windows, got the latest updates, updated my video card drivers, i even downloaded internet explorer 7 for christ sake! WHAT ESLE CAN I DO TO PLAY THIS GAME???

Another thing - i installed that Elecard DVD Decoder, which somone here suggested, but when i go to the game configuration panel, this decoder dont show in there !! All i have is my mediamatics dvdexpress and bunch of other players / decoders. Howcome THAT one doesnt show up??? Maybe thats the problem and thats why machine locks up during video playback...any ideas?

Check your mail - I sent you my Overseer files. Let us know if they corrected the problem.

, ok, fixed the problem:) now i have another problem, in gideon's gallery...but i ve seen someone else here had da same problem, so what do i do? Every time i try to click on da lamp with the long pole, game kickes me out...

HELP!! I'm running the Overseer DVD version on XP. I cannot play the video no matter what I do. When I click the intro all that happens is something like a screenflash then it reloads the menu. And in the game blank screen on video with only the conversation options showing. The 3d environment plays very smoothly, no probs there. Just the dvd video. I've tried a couple different mpeg-2 decoders it has in the decoder list but NOTHING works.

In other words, please tell me which decoder works and/or if you can send me the files you sent the other guy.

well, as i can recall, i installed DVD express player. Plus, i disabled support for MIDI in my settings and everything worked fine! Send me an e-mail to [email protected] and i ll send you DVD express playa

Hi, I have the same problem. Installed the Elecard MPEG2 decoder but it doesn't show up on the devices list (The DVDExpress codec has very bad quality on videos here, dunno why.)
