The Prestige
Haven't heard of it... can you give us a quick rundown on what it is about?
On another film note, went and saw 'The Departed' last night. Great film, pretty long but always engaging. A lot of violence, but what I liked about this film, it had complexity without trying to be too smart. A lot of film try to be smart by keeping not only the cahracters in the dark but the audeience as well... but what worked with this film was the fact that we knew what was goign on, and it was very entertaining to see all the charaters clash.

Trailer for The Prestige
Although I made myself NOT watch it before the movie came out. I wanted to know as little as possible. I'm glad I did.
The simplest thing I can say, to not give anything away, is that it's about rival magicans in turn of the century London.

Yeah, I've been wanting to see it. I like the director and the actors, and have been waiting for it for a while.

Great flick. I saw it last week and again today.
Last week I posted a note on The Zork Library website about
The Prestige because the actor who played Merrit in The
Prestige (W. Morgan sheppard) was the same guy who played
Bishop Francois Malveaux in Zork Nemesis. So I figured the
Zork guys would be interested.
Anyway, I am a big fan of Christian Bale (the principle
character in The Prestige) and was waiting with baited breath
for this to come out. Extremely cool movie.

-Tried to get someone to go with me now for a week, so tonight I decided to go alone - It's only sad if you think it's sad - truly terrific film - funny thing for me is I've been reading quite alot about Nikola Tesla on my spare time, so it was quite a kick to see him in action - I suggest to all of you to study up on Nikola Tesla, and Johann Bessler (Orffyreus) - truly incredible historical characters capable of unimaginable things...
Oh, and about the film - I absolutely despise that I managed to figure out the entire plot halfway through the film (when they showed all the hats and the cat) - but I enjoyed it all the same - I found myself thinking back through the entire film and finding an extreme deep meaning close to home - truly terrific film from every aspect, especially from the point of view of self-sacrifice, which turns out to be in my mind a major theme of the film...GO SEE IT!

Whoa, just read somewhere just now that Nikola Tesla is played by David Bowie - I didn't even notice it during the film - somebody slap me!
