I've said it before, and I'll say it again...

If there is ever a film version of a Tex adventure, and Chris Jones isn't on deck to be the star, Tex's shoes should be filled by Noah Wylie. To bolster my argument, you would all do well to try and catch the two "Librarian" made-for-TV movies, which they are currently showing in heavy rotation on TNT (the first one is available on DVD as well, I think).

The second entry in the series, "Return to King Solomon's Mines," has just premiered on TNT, and has many scenes that are quite reminiscent of the Mayan temple scenes in Pandora, and Wylie even dons a trenchcoat and fedora in one of the final scenes (which takes place in Casablanca). He fits the physical and personality qualities of Tex to the letter!

If you can manage to catch "The Librarian" movies, you'll see what I mean, especially if you only know him from his days on "E.R."
Here, here!

I'll second that notion. He's got the acting ability to pull off Tex, I'll give him that. I haven't seen the two shows you're speaking of yet, myself, but Noah was great on ER, and the one movie I remember him from on TNT was the "Pirates of Silicon Valley" ... I loved that movie. I'm gonna have to rent that first one at Blockbuster in the coming days.

Okay.

If you stick him in a chair and force him to play through UAKM, PD and Overseer. At minimum 3 times each.

Then maybe. Just maybe.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
And as I always say, Huey Larie or however u spell his name from House would be perfect for Tex...

I think those are both great ideas.

I like the Noah Wylie idea--he was really great as Steve Jobs, and I think he has the versatility to play the humor that Tex would need. Now all we need is a script, money, and for Adrian to sign on to direct...
We really enjoyed both Librarian movies and I think Noah would be a good type cast for Tex. Also, Hugh Laurie (sp?) isn't a bad choice either.

Hugh Laurie - good choice! Just the right demeanor and voice!
