Actually since you already installed DOSBox0.72, VDMSound, VDMS LaunchPad and edited the dosbox.conf file for Pandora all you should have to do is...
- Download and Extract the "UAKM for DOSBox0.72" file from Nilo's site.
Copy the "MOON" folder to your C: drive.
Start DOSBox
At the C:\> prompt, type "cd moon", then press <Enter>
At the C:\MOON\> prompt, type "tex197", then press <Enter>
Enjoy

Thanks Bafitis - will let all know how I do. Yes I would say that the cracked disc was a huge problem:)

Did just fine downloading and installing UAKM! So thanks to you all am playing away OK. Sound is a bit sqweaky at times; was not sure what sound device to choose so used the automatic locator feature. Not sure if sound would be better if I had chose something else. My sound card is
Sound Card – Sigma Tel High Defin.
Audio CODEC
and was not sure which of those listed is close to its configuration so did the automatic thing. So the sqweaking continues.
Other than that - doing quite well. Not sure where it was when I crashed before in the game but maybe with DosBox 0.72 this will not happen.
Meanwhile checking my bid on Pandora.

Do so... Let us know when you get the Pandora Replacement if it runs... If you have a problem getting it on eBay, go to Amazon, they have several for low prices as well...
Enjoy UAKM, Nilo's Site has Puzzle Solutions if you get Stumped to the point that the game is becoming Unenjoyable...

Good to know about Nilo's puzzle solutions - sometimes I do get in a corner and can't get out:)
My bid on EBay is up in about 4 hours today so if I lose out will try Amazon. UKAM meanwhile is going quite well so far.
Just wandering around right now trying to figure out just what to do next. I am taking the 'nice guy role' to see how old Tex makes out with Chelsee - forever the romantic at any age:) Then would like to replay to see what the ending is if he is a real b------ throughout the game. Fun fun fun.

SansGUI: Was reading your explanation of the term SansGUI and finding it fascinating though not quite sure I understand all the ramifications of same.
Curious to know if what I am hearing is true re Vista, Windows 7, XP support ending.
Friend of mine got new laptop with of course Vista. She hates Vista and from my brief look of same - would not have it on a bet! Hear MS rushed out Longhorn (Vista) too fast and now is trying to cover mistakes by coming out with Windows 7! True?
Also hear that after 2010 there is no more XP support which means no more updates. True? Does that then mean that XP is more at risk security wise without such?
I can remember windows 3.1 (always liked that format); so how long can MS go on making version after version after version (and incidentally making money) without any competition giving users some choices. OR why can't MS just improve their product, correct mistakes without having to 'reinvent the wheel' over and over again!
OR do I just not understanding all the mechanics of PCs?
And with all such changes what happens to games in the Tex genre?

There is plenty of Competition out there... You can always buy a MAC, very good computers, in some ways better than a PC in fact... There are a couple of others as well... You just have to look for them sometimes, you won't find anything but MAC and PC in your local computer stores for the most part...
Microsoft feels they are required to come out with something new at least every other year, if not every year... So yes, a lot of their stuff, more so in the last 5 to 8 years, has gotten rushed onto the market without any regard for how it was going to impact the consumer... Microsoft is one of those companies who have become so wealthy and powerful that screwing up like this isn't really going to hurt them and they know this... So in short, "They Don't Care."...

Guess I will have to check out the Macs just to see what everyone is talking about - both pro and con. Does not seem to be a middle ground - one either likes a Mac or hates a Mac.
I just know seeing Vista OS not going to touch it with a 10' pole!

I like Macs just fine, I just use PCs... IF you want some good Solid Opinions, go over to the General Forum and post a topic "Mac or PC?" and ask your questions in that thread, a lot of Mac and PC users in the General Forum that don't bother with the other Forums for the most part... A lot of people will see your question in there before they will in here and you can get some good answers from them too...
