Just saw him in an episode of X-Files a few weeks back. Think the episode was called "Space" in season 1. Sad...

Путь по солнцу держим, а оно давно уж не там где прежде и в глазах темно. Ах не до восхода! Скачем на закат! Сколько же народа "не вернуть назад!"
Quote from old, Russian song.

Pete Seeger passed away last night. A genuine living legend, a man who influenced not only generations of musicians, but the conscience of a nation. It's hard to overstate the man's importance and impact.
As the child of two amateur folk singers, he strikes a particularly resonant chord with me. He was truly the godfather of American folk music.
When I was very young, my father used to play this song to me. Originally it was a song from a man to a woman, of course, but to me, it will always be a father to child. I grew up very poor, and I know when he sang it, he meant it.

That ability for songs to evolve in context and meaning was really what folk music was all about. Just as We Shall Overcome was conceived as a song for the Labor Movement, repurposed by Seeger for the Civil Rights movement, folk songs have that unique ability to grow and stay a part of us.

Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead today. Whatever the cause, here we have lost an acting giant who has accompanied many of us throughout our adult lives with the eclectic parts he portrayed in many great movies.
He will be sorely missed and I for one am very sad at the loss of such an outstanding and accomplished actor.

Harold Ramis died, today, at age 69.
Another comic legend... sad
Ghost Busters 3 is looking more and more grim.....
This could very well be the final nail in the coffin, with Bill Murray, not wanting to do it either.

Oh man

I personally
wasn't looking forward to Ghostbusters 3 to be honest, but I did love him for a lot of his work whether it be on or off camera. GB 1 and 2 of course, but also Stripes, Groundhog Day, Analyze This, National Lampoon's Vacation, and Caddyshack.
