I'd imagine it'd be tricky to encourage people to play Tex Murphy games. Say what you want about how awesome they are, once the people manage to...find them...they'll then reach another stumbling block: getting them to work. It's tricky.
And, I wouldn't say adventure gaming is dead...it's comatose.

V, that's why I said that they need to be Refitted/Reprogrammed... Like Sierra did to the King's Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest, and Leisure Suit Larry Games... Reformat them so they will work on Modern computers, put them back on the Shelves and see what kind of profit they produce... Take a % of those profits every month and stick them into a special Account for the Budget of a New game and if it climbs to the needed amount, start production on the new Tex Game...
If they spent the few dollars to reformat like Sierra did, I think they would see a sizable profit from the originals, not to mention put some gas in the engine for a New one...

Sierra didn't reformat anything, they just added Dosbox with the game and hoped for the best.

They made it to where it would all run without the User having to do anything but install...
I think there was a bit more to it than Dosbox and hoping for the best...
And I think the same thing could be done with all 5 of the Tex Series...
