Well thank you. Yes I've been AWOL for a while. Other interests and a lot of work have kept me busy.
LA Noire certainly seems very interesting, though we've only seen a prerendered trailer so far (as far as I know at least). The concept might just be even more appealing than that of Mafia II, but I have more faith in Illusion/2K Czech to hit all the high notes (though it's probably a good thing Rockstar bought Team Bondi).

I'll just take all of them when they come out and keep my expectations as low as I can, then be joyful when the surprise hits me that these games do indeed rock.

What's LA Noire? I haven't heard of it, but of course, I'm totally out of touch with reality so it only makes sense. Sounds like a Detective game....I always thought it would be cool to do a Max Payne type game based on the movie LA Confidential...how bad ass would that be?

I mean GTA 3. For me, I just didn't feel "it". I can't explain what that is, but it just lacked something. At the time I felt the graphics were faily mediocre, i felt no connection to the muted (literally) protagonist, multiple employers added to the confusion. I got GTA 3 at the same time i got Mafia. I played Mafia first and was blown away by the level of graphic detail, character depth and story. I played GTA 3 after finishing this and just really felt let down by it.

L.A Noire is a next generation Noir game set in an open world environment not unlike that of GTA or Mafia where you play the role of a Private Detective. Very little is know about it at the moment, but its main feature is that not only does it combine action and adventure game elements, but it gives the player complete freedom as to where they go and how they solve the mystery. Think of it as Pandora on steroids

Here's a Website on this L.A. Noire...

Reminds me a bit like The Godfather game, the way it plays down... Except this looks like it will have more depth to it than The Godfather did... This is a game that Definitely looks like it's worth keeping tabs on...

The Godfather is all out action with a brilliantly constructed story (courtesy of the film) along with stunning visuals and great driving. Noire is a different ball of wax all together, it may contain elements of Godfather, but I get the impression that walking around with a gun and running bad guys over in your car won't get you far.

Ahh...that makes sense, although the trouble with that is essentially you're playing the new refined stuff after the big thing had already been out for a while. Mafia was released a full year after GTA 3, borrowed a lot of concepts and added a rather well done mobster story on top of it.
To me GTA 3 reminds me of A Fistfull of Dollars, a single gunman roaming between camps and working for pretty much all sides. Although technically that means it reminds me of the Japanese samurai movie it's based on, but I never saw that movie so it doesn't count.
I can't trust the Godfather game. I don't trust anything released by Electronic Arts.

I didn't mean that it would be a copy of Godfather... I'm just saying from the video trailer that is on that link above, the graphics and user interface seem to be a lot the same... I'm sure the storyline and the way you play will be completely different...
Noire Looks very interesting, I'll be keeping track of this game waiting for its release...

Now that's a game I can sink my teeth into.

Hey dude, i just noticed this now. Which post was that?

Thanks for the kind words too!
Just got my copy of GTA4 the other day, the best since GTA2. Absolutely loving it. More characterisation and realism. It's good to have it back.
