There were Zork graphic versions? I thought they were limited to boring text adventures.

There are three graphic Zork games. Return to Zork, Zork Nemesis and Zork Grand Inquisitor.

Each of the games are very different from each other. Return to Zork has the most primitive graphics (8-bit, no panning) the most sophisticated interface, and typical Zorkian humor. Nemesis had beautiful (Myst-like) graphics, 360 degree panning, full-motion video and a very dark, sometimes creepy atmosphere. Grand Inquisitor had great graphics, FMV, magic, Zork humor and is probably the easiest of the three. All of the games featured live actors.

They are very excellent games with a lot of re playability.

Is there anyplace online where I can play the original Zork games? I'm talking the text-adventures here. Maybe someone restored them and put them on some webpage, I dunno... Do you?

Sure. I'm not sure if you want to actually play it online or download it and play on your own computer. The download for Zork 1 is on 72K. You can download Zork 1, 2 and 3 from here:

They are in zip files. Once you dowload them, extract the zip and then click on the .bat to play.
