Even though it took sehr viel effort to set up and get it to run on my old 286 DOS with 20MB hard disk with 13 inch color monitor, I was able to finally run the game. From then on ...

I guess it was 1994 (or (95 - whichever year UAKM came out), and my dad and I were switching channels around on the t.v. when we came across this Tech Show. They were showing upcoming games and they started talking about this new game that was getting rave reviews called Under a Killing Moon. Well, they started showing scenes from the game trying to showcase the blending of live actors and computer rendered backgrounds. The scene that got me hyped on it was the Chameleon kicking the hell out of Tex outside of the Ritz with a lead pipe. Awesome scene. Anyhoo, we didn't even have a computer yet so I didn't think much about. Then that fall, I stayed over at my friend Steve's house (MacMalden on this board) and he told me he borrowed a game from a friend of ours for us to play that night. I said "What's it called?" To which he replied "Under a killing Moon..." And from that point on, I've been a Tex Murphy follower and will be till the story is completed....or till I die. Not much gray area there, huh? lol

1994 - Roseville MI USA - #2 son comes home with a game and starts playing it. He tells me I would LOVE the game if I gave it a try. Begrudgingly I tried it and was hooked. In fact, he was not able to wrest me away from the game. I finished it and he never did. The rest is history.

Well, Baf, since I'm the head of the house (big joke), I simply dominated the game and he never got around to completing it.

And no, I did NOT pay him for the game! What a terrible (but smart) parent, eh?

Oh great! Just what I needed.....another woman in my life telling me what to do. Sheesh!

I first encountered Tex when my grandad bought the Kixx re-release of Under a Killing Moon at a computer fair. I can still remember the first line I heard: "Kiss me Rudy, and set my lips on fire!" - I was intrigued as to what was so interesting about this game.

I then went and stood peering over my grandad's shoulder as he played it for a bit, but he didn't seem to be able to get the hang of it so I took over and the rest, as they say, is history

I remember it being previewed and talked about in 93 (if I remember correctly) and I laughed at it for its requirements.

I didnt pay much attention to it even when it hit the shelves the next year. I do remember seeing that James Earl Jones did some of the voice work and that made me interested. But I had heard that its requirements were pretty high. I figured I wouldnt be able to play it and just played other things.

Fast foward to 1996-97 and I puchased a used copy of UKAM for just a few bucks. I was totaly hooked in the first few days. Before I had even completed UKAM I went to the EB to find the next game in the series.

Today I fondly remember Tex and am amazed that its been 10 years since I enjoyed Overseer for the first time. Tex rest well where ever you are!

There used to be a small games store in an indoor shop market (it was literally just one small square). I was looking there (I was probably 10 years old or under, I was born in 1985)... and they had a bargain bin in the middle. They had UAKM and the back blurb and pictures seemed interesting, plus the amount of discs was surprising, I thought for a bit then decided to give it a go. I wasn't dissapointed.
Since then the small store disappeared and the shopping mall it resided within is being knocked down...
