I don't really care for that show, but that was kind of funny...

I on the other hand cannot live without that show, and the biting satire that it makes everyone swallow ...

I've always been of the opinion that if Family Guy doesn't offend you somehow, you're not looking hard enough. Sort of like South Park. I've seen every episode of both and am eagerly awaiting more.

But I understand those who aren't fans of the show. Some just ... don't find it funny. Some find it gross and inappropriate. Some wish the show to burn in hell. Jus out of curiosity Baf, what turned you off of the show?

I can tell you the reason I never stopped watching it, is that I never grew up and I love giggling at this kind of humor.

Nothing really turned me off or on about it, just one of those types that didn't grab me... I wasn't a fan of the Simpsons until just a couple of years ago and that show has been running for 20 years now...

I guess a problem that I have with those shows is I look at them as Cartoons, so when I see Cartoon, I immediately think "Children", and some of the content from those shows just aren't child oriented in my opinion...

Ever since I became a parent I've noticed my point of view on things have changed greatly when it comes to something that concerns children... And I just can't stop thinking that Cartoons are for kids... Even though I know those few shows from Fox aren't exactly targeted towards kids, but I just can't get it out of my head that it should be for kids...
Understand what I'm saying??? I know it sounds complicated... lol

I imagine, just like with the Simpsons, I may end up watching it and enjoying it in a few years...

Actually that is totally understandable, as I got a similar response from my father when he was alive. I told him he'd love it, but he was like "But it's a cartoon Mike." ... I forced him through a few and although he admitted that they were funny (probably just for my sake now that I think about it...), he never really actively tried to watch them himself, and frustratingly would click off the channel if it was on when he was surfing by. I don't know about you, but when dad had the remote you were watching what he was watching or you we getting the hell out of the living room

The funny thing is, aside from my cartoon shows, I ended up being a lot like him when it comes to tv watching. He ALWAYS would stop on a WW2 documentary, and I find myself doing the same anymore. They did a whole program about why, scientifically it didn't work when they tried to assassinate him, because the briefcase bomb was set on the wrong side of the table. Had it been setting on the other side, they hypothesized that he would have died and the whole WW2 situation would have had a much different ending. That was a good show... and I think I heard somewhere they were going to, or had a made a movie about that assassination attempt. Wish I remembered what it was called.

You know, I have no sense of staying on topic...

My father was a bit like that, but when I was growing up we only had 5 channels before we got cable... We had a period of time, like 2 hours in the evening where we {my brother and I} could watch what we wanted, but come 7pm-7:30pm we lost control of the TV and either watched what was on or went on about our business...

Later we got cable, when I was about 6 or so I guess, then my father built the the upstairs Attic into 2 bedrooms and took the bedroom my brother and I shared and turned it into a Den/Playroom, so we ended up with our own TV when I was about 10... We had a Computer and a TV, whichever one had the Computer the other got the TV... I usually tried to get the computer, because I didn't always mind what my brother watched... So I felt like I was kind of winning both... lol

My son has almost always had his own TV, so I don't know what he would do if he suddenly had to share... lmao

You're probably thinking of Valkyrie, the one with Tom Cruise.
