Too many people crave money, power, and status... The chance of going Automated in our life time or even our children's lifetime is pretty slim, I think...
I'm all for it and would be willing to contribute in some way to make it happen, but I just don't see enough people in favor of it...
Like you said it would take a worldly disaster to make it happen... And as I said the only worldly disaster would be a 3rd World War... Either that or Near Extinction due to an Asteroid strike or something...
