Joel, from someone who played Monkey Island since the 16 colour version was first released, the third is excellent, the first used to be my favourite, though I think the jokes come across better without the modern voiceovers. The second was good too, but the fourth was the worst of the bunch. The new version isn't too bad from what I've played of it so far.
The third one had some lovely touches in the game - the clocktower would show the real time on your computer and would chime for the quarter hours.

Heard back from Lestat... All is well for the most part... First off he had to go out of town for his Sister-In-Law's wedding... Upon returning he had to fix his wife's computer so that is what has been keeping him occupied... Plus, as suspected the baby is due anytime now and they are on pins and needles waiting for that, but all is good... So we can stop worrying...
