Crikey! I completely forgot about Top Gear! There's a wacky bunch of miscreants! They strapped a car to a rocket once. I wonder what that cost them.

Aw man I need to see the new episodes!

Fred,
The Mythbusters strapped a rocket to a car in their first season. I think they've done it more than once too.

I've never seen an episode of Top Gear. The previews make it look like fun.

Since it's a British show you have to look for it on BBC America.

Oh look at that, it comes on tonight...
TV wrote:Jeremy and Richard compare car manufacturers in an attempt to find out which one has produced the highest number of quality automobiles; Jeremy drives a caravan to a campsite; actor Chris Evans tests his skills in the reasonably-priced car.
Okay I'll DVR it and give it a whirl...

I've pondered watching it but never got around to it. I mean I love my car but not really into cars in general. Not sure I'd appreciate all the car talk.

If you haven't watched it, you can't guarantee that they use a bunch of "Car Talk"... They might talk in Layman terms...

Sam, I didn't say they strapped a rocket to a car. I said they strapped a car to a rocket. There's a difference there, and a not-too-subtle one either

Oh Fred, you are right. Silly me for failing at reading comprehension.

Yeah that would make a huge difference.

My wife is not a big car person, but Top Gear is one of her favorite shows and she insists that I not watch the new episodes without her. They do have some fairly standard car reviews, but they always have some crazy challenge or race that is more about the three of them goofing around than it is cars. I think it is all highly entertaining.

I've watched all 3 seasons, well currently watching the 3rd season... It's different that's for sure...

The first half of the show the teams of 2 drive from checkpoint to checkpoint, usually 3 different checkpoints about 120 to 150 miles apart {distance varies}... At each check point they are given a destination to go to the next checkpoint and have to navigate getting their on their own...
The 2nd half of the show, the 2 teams to come in last, plus a team thrown in by the team that came in first have to compete in a challenge... Could be anything from a drag race to an obstacle or to something very elaborate...
The team finished Last in the challenge is eliminated from the show...

Quite comical as well... All around a very entertaining show... Comes on the channel SPEED on Thursdays at 10pm EST...
