The Walking Dead...

I think Otis is a goner. When he volunteered to go with Shane, it stuck me as a red-shirt moment from Star Trek. I also think the girl is alive and maybe has found some other group of people. However, I'm usually bad about predicting how these things will go, so don't be surprised if I'm completely wrong.
I think he is dead too.

I remember Otis from the movie Identity. He was also in an X-files episode.

HAHA red shirt moment. I like how you put that.

HAHAHA, I like that...

Strange I can't find him on IMDB... I found Pruitt Taylor Vince, and it has a picture of him on the Set of The Walking Dead, but there is no mention of The Walking Dead in his Filmography list... I guess they are falling behind on keeping that updated... Usually you can get info on the Actors and Shows/Movies before they've even aired or even been filmed in some cases...

But yeah I'm thinking he is a short term character, but we'll have to wait and see...

Yes I think the little girl is alive as well, to be honest I'm a little tired of how long they've drawn out her missing... Hopefully we get some insight in the next episode... some Cues from the Talk Show that comes on after the show leads me to believe she is still alive... But I'm sure they are scripted to keep us in suspense just like the show...

May I get you all to bow your heads in a moment of silence for Otis, our dearly departed...

And so the Curse of the "Red Shirt" lives on...

So what is everyone's opinion of Shane after this episode???

Still a little ticked that they are dragging the little girl's discovery out... She better return next week, as a Zombie or Alive, I don't care which, I just want to know dammit... lol

I hate Shane now.

What a coward.

Some might argue he was just trying to save Carl... but I don't think so... if he was trying to do that, he would have stayed behind.

And yes, I want to find out what happened to her too.
Matt
Wow. I did not see Shane pulling that at the end. I guess it is sort of in line with the way they're developing his character, but I thought maybe he'd be a bit more rounded than that. And I agree that we need some resolution to the girl's story. It is getting a bit long in the tooth.
well I certainly don't like him & in fact what he did has only confirmed that I was right about him all along.

I think they will drag out the little girl dissappearance for a while yet. Maybe she is with the guy with no hand.

I read the comic books. Shane...well, he gets his. By the most unlikely of persons.

I'm guessing by season end we will learn what the scientist whispered in the sheriff's ear, if it's what I think it is, it'll be a shocker for you guys.

As I totally cheat by reading the materials, I can give no spoilers....

Ok, maybe a small spoiler, remember the CDC guy demanded everyone get a blood test before he let them in and around the complex.
I haven't taken the time to read the comics, but I do know about them... I listened to the writer talk about it... He also said that he can't promise that the series will follow the comics completely... They may jumble the story just so it won't be completely predictable by the avid readers...

So they could very well take a different path with Shane even though it seems to be going along with the comics for now...

I have them bookmarked, I do plan on reading them and when I do, I do hope that the show will deter from them and become its own thing, not sure if I could continue to watch if I knew what lurked around almost every corner... Kind of like True Blood has... It started out based on the Sookie Stackhouse Novels, but it has added characters and removed characters to create its own path away from the novels...

I have a couple of suspicions of what Rick was told... I'd love for it to be a shocker though... I think I enjoy it more when I'm wrong with these kinds of things...

I have my thoughts about the blood tests (I haven't read the comics). But, I won't guess because I'm usually wrong.
That's the fun of guessing, like I said I prefer to be wrong that way it makes the story more interesting... I hate predictability and if I guess enough and end up right enough I usually end up watching something less and less... So far The Walking Dead has kept me very interested... Really didn't see poor little Amy getting it, especially as early as she did...
I suspected that we would lose Otis, but it definitely wasn't the way I was expecting, so that was very surprising...

That's mostly what has kept me from reading the comics is the fact that I want to stay interested in the show...

As for the game, I haven't heard about it until now... Can't really see how they can do a game based on the show already... Unless they are planning on doing several parts to the game... Because normally you need a conclusion in which to take the game to, unless the Comics have already been finished, I was under the impression that the comics were an ongoing thing...
According to what I've read so far online, they've been talking to Kirkman himself {creator of The Walking Dead}, so I can only guess that it Will be somewhat based on the Show or Comics... Guess we'll find out as they get further along on the project...

Well this week's episode was kind of weak... I do like that Glenn got some play though... lol

At least we've found some evidence of Sophia possibly being alive... I don't think a Zombie would eat a can of Sardines or make a bed to sleep in, in the closet... So that's a plus...
I think it was right of Daryl not to tell Carol though, but I think he should at least mention it to Rick, maybe even take Rick to that house once he has recovered from all the blood giving...

Who do you think the father of the baby is??? They don't really have the means of a paternity test though... I guess it will boil down to how far along she is, if they can even determine that much...
Or do you think she may ask Hershel to abort it while the others are out searching for Sophia???

Yeah, it did seem to be more of a "filler" episode. Although, it did set up some things for future episodes.

I don't know about the pregnancy. Maybe she'll see if the vet can tell her how far along she is (I have no idea how he'd manage to do this as I doubt he has ultrasound equipment) and be able to determine whose child it is. I'm not sure how long ago she and Shane stopped hooking up.

I think Darryl will have to tell Rick about the house he found; but maybe I'm just too trusting of a person in thinking that people will do the right thing. Still, so far I think Darryl's proven that he'll do what's right.
I think its obvious who the father will be by the look on her face. I would say it was a while before she saw her husband alive.
