It must be a rarity, as several of my British friends had never had a pretzel. I for one love them. (Soft pretzels, mmmm) I was only able to find them in the "international" section of an Irish grocery store last time I was there. Needless to say, next time I visit the UK I will bring my own.

Yeah Sai, American pudding is more like a custard, but still oh so good.

Mind you, us Yanks still can barely make a decent beer.

I guess it depends where your friends are located as to the availability. Big chain stores like Tesco's and Sainsbury's probably would carry them (if its not a small one). But there are some locations in the UK that the tesco / Sainsbury chain supermarkets havent hit yet (which could be a good thing as far as some are concerned ).

Of course though, in the UK you can have custard on your pudding. At teatime.
