Been into Tesla / Bessler for ages myself! So much fascinating stuff to read up on there! Fred, I believe you're thinking of JP Morgan, rather than Rockefeller, if I'm not mistaken. I think he was funding the building of Tesla's Wardenclyffe Tower, which supposedly would harness energy from earth's ionosphere (the same area that charges high altitude clouds which release this energy via lightning) and transmit it wirelessly across oceans and land, bouncing along the earth's curvature as long wave radio signals. And then you're right, when Morgan found he would not be able to make much money off this invention, with the power being free to anyone with the proper receivers and all, he cut funding completely. Then, shortly after, the place was set ablaze. It was assumed Morgan or his goons were behind it, but nothing was ever proven, as far as I know. Tesla was devastated, however, with the loss of all his research, and I don't think he revisited this idea after that. I found a video that demonstrates this effect of wireless electricity, though I do believe it relies on electromagnetism. Personally I'm kind of glad the idea got scrapped / sabotaged. If not I'd imagine it would be as if we were all living under massive power lines, all the time, with nowhere to hide...I'm pretty sure cancer is more common in people who live near these things. Anyhow, here's the video - can't promise it's not fake, but I know the concept is based on real science. Not sure if it would work on the scale Tesla imagined, however. Sorry for the weird format of this post - on my phone.

Man, I am missing birthday's all over the place. Happy belated Aaron! Funny, AC's birthday is the same as my niece's.

It's been a while since I read it, but, I was fairly certain it was Rockefeller. He's the oil dude, no? Anyway, you might be right.

And yes, living under a constant stream of electronic smog on that level would probably wipe us out as a species. I'm fairly certain cancers form as wireless information criss-cross our bodies on frequencies we cannot see or hear. We're resistant to it up to the point where we're not.

I'm just curious if we'll ever evolve to pick up on these frequencies.

I heard Lucille Ball was able to hear the radio through her teeth when in certain areas. I even heard she once heard morse code and reported it to the FBI, which in turn lead to to the capture if a Japanese spy during WWII. Guess we'll all just need to get lead brain implants, and we can watch Netflix from behind our eyelids. It's the way of the future!

It might be a little cluttered and crazy to all the time be able to see and track every wave and energy signature on the planet, but I would use it for good. Ahhh who am I kidding, I'd use it to benefit my own diabolical plans to take over the world.

But if I ran the planet, you guys could be on my cabinet, so you'd be alright. In my utopia run by myself, it probably would be a little less zeitgeist and more Fahrenheit 451. You'd want to be on my cabinet. Or you might think you'd want to be on the side of the rebels, who feel my ways are too constricting of their freedoms. But with my powers I'd crush you, and all freedom. And then I'd be content to micromanage and MAKE everyone be good. There would be no more killing. No more stealing. Imagine Demolition Man. We're talking three sea shells when you go to the bathroom and all.

Good lord, I'm rambling again. And in retrospect have no idea how any of this had anything to do with the topic. Just yeah, if we start getting mutations like that as a species, I'd better not get a game changing one. I'd rule the world with an Iron Fist. But gently.

All I got out of that post was ruling the world and something about gently ironfisting it at the same time.

I'm old enough I can recall when Lucille described on the Tonight Show how she could hear a radio station through her teeth. MythBusters tried to duplicate the phenomenon and failed. AFAIK, the Japanese sub myth is just that, a myth.
