Longtime UTM'ers, here's to us
Sad thing is ATLUS as the publisher likely doesn't even have any involvement in the Backer section of the Big Finish forums and things kinda rest in their hands right now. I think it is a bit weird they got the GOG codes. I don't believe ATLUS have a big presence beyond this release on GOG whilst Big Finish do with all the previous Tex Murphy titles. I kind of imagine some person sitting at ATLUS going "What's a GOG?"Joel wrote:Ahahah. A sentiment that is diametrically the opposite to the Big Finish Forums ahaha

That'd be appropriate since one of Sonic's catchphrases is "You're too slow!" and that's what ATLUS is being right now.Joel wrote:They'll probably invent a character named GOG for their next Sonic release.

Texmas... that has a nice ring to it!

Yeah, there was really something great about this happening the way it did. The UTM community has been so faithful for so long, and never really gave up hope (ok, some of us were pretty close), and then came together and made it happen.
And I think as a result we got the game we wanted and deserved. Tesla Effect is truly a game for the fans, done completely in the style of the old games, without compromise. It's a great game and I'm really proud to have played some small part and watched it happen with all of you.
I really don't know if this game will do well enough for them to make another, but I feel like even if it doesn't, BFG and UTM has accomplished something important, and brought closure to a story we all loved. If this is the end, Tex finally gets one last hurrah to go out on a the high note he always deserved but didn't have until now. That means a lot to me.

I joined back up, again, in 2012. I had been active in UTM under another nickname since way back at least to the early 2000's. Like many others, I dropped out for some time in the mid-2000's (I used to swing by a few times a year to see what was happening, but couldn't do more often because of work and family commitments). I had to get a new nick cause I lost my password and I couldn't recover the password because the email I used to register with no longer existed.
Times change, and I now have more time for things like UTM. 'Course, ATM, a lot of the activity is on the BFG forums. BUT, without UTM, I feel certain there wouldn't be a Tesla Effect.
Congrats to all the long-time fans and supporters, and especially to James LeMosy. What a trooper he's been, keeping the fan base active, fanning the flames, never giving up. I'm sure there were times when he felt like giving up, but he never did. 3 cheers to James.

Look what we did guys.
SPOILER! I just finished it last night and got the Chelsee ending. Talk about closure. I waited for sixteen years, but man it was worth it. I've been a lurker on these forums for a long time, I just want to say to all of you who other Tex fans who hung in there and helped bring Tex back, thanks guys. Even if there is no new Tex game after this I can live with it. Tex and Chelsee got the happily ever after ending they deserved and so did I. SPOILER
