It's still expensive compared to the alternatives, is what I meant. But yes, you are also right. It is cheaper than ever before.

I'm sure the right producer/director combo could come up with a really inexpensive FMV based game that would be aggressively priced even against the alternatives. FMV done well doesn't mean expensive either.Fred Buer wrote:It's still expensive compared to the alternatives, is what I meant. But yes, you are also right. It is cheaper than ever before.

another fun game from the same era as tex
That would be a cool. In fact, something like this was done with the very successful BBC TV series "Doctor Who". You can actually play an episode of the show. The game mechanic is rudimentary due to the fact that it was originally designed for some set top box available only in Britain with a remote much like a DVD remote. They since have converted it into a flash game on the net and it is like playing through an actual episode.Sai wrote:Yeah film makers are missing a trick. Imagine the extra money they'd make from hardcore fans by filming a few extra scenes and then releasing an interactive version (after the normal edition of course for those fans that can't wait) with a few alternative paths/endings and unlockable bonuses (outtakes)
