I've never had a defective pixel issue - ever... And there's a warranty on the monitor, though I've heard they only cover above a certain number of pixels.
I have a space issue and being a web/graphic designer and animator I need my real estate. LCD is really the only option I have. (You ever try to lift a 21" CRT?!?!

Also, CRTs really bother my eyes. I don't do prepress so the color is good enough for me.

@ michel pronk - my father's sight is really bad, too; can you tell me more about that zoomtext software? There seemed to be a few types of magnifying software and they ranged in price drastically. What's the big deal? Why so expensive and what's the difference between programs?
