The Masque of the Red Death (Cub's new film)...
Hoo boy, Cub, now that's dedication. Everything looks amazing, and I can't wait to see the finished product myself. I'll be honest with you, I've not much experience with Poe, but the period does strike me as intriguing.
A few questions though. How much money does it cost to do this kind of thing? Were your actors paid, or volunteers? I'm just curious. This really does look like it may belong at Sundance, and I'll tell you this much, if the story and the production values, and performances equal what it looks like the sum is going to be, this could be very, very big.
Won't it be great to say "Hey, I know this guy everybody is calling the next big thing in Hollywood."?
Good luck with everything Cub, and best of wishes on having a very successful post production.

I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.
When I was in high school (yes, they had high school in those days) I needed some extra credit to make a decent grade. So, me being a huge Poe fan, I memorized AND recited before the class all 108 lines of The Raven. True story.
In the meantime, I wish you great success in your quest, Cub.

It's in that game I mentioned too, The Dark Eye, where you play as both the victim and the murderer... it is very freaky playing as the victim and watching the bricks build up... the voice acting in that game is also fantastic.

Well, I had to save up to fund the film myself... but thankfully the people involved (both cast and crew) donated their time which was wonderful considering how many there were involved. The expenses were mainly the equipment hire, locations, costumes, catering and transportation/logisitics... which equated to quite a bit.Mr. Thomas Malloy wrote: A few questions though. And Sai, that game looks really interesting, I will have to download it as soon as I get home and check it out.
An update on the progress of the film...
We have reached an edit lock-off which means the editing phase is complete and we are currently going through the following independant stages:
Colour Grading and compositing: Andy Worth (DOP) & Sustano Widjaja (Editor)
Sound Design: Jamil Khuri
Music and Score: Matt Heider
3D compositing: Myself
All these stages are running concurrently and independant of one another.
I had a chance to talk to Matt on the phone today, and it was good to finally hear the voice behind the talent. Really fortunate to be working with Matt and I am certain he will bring a lot to the project.
The deadline for assessment submission is November 9th... and the screening deadline is November 17th... so shortly after the 17th I will have something to show you guys.
Many thanks!

I was finally able to see a lot of clips from that and the trailer on YouTube (god bless that site)... I really don't know what to say... I am almost certain it was some wild tangent of the story I had never heard about... and that they were all on shrooms!DrPaul wrote:Hey!
