The last film you´ve seen and your thoughts about it

Okay Doc, only per your advice will I sit through Iron Man, because I am in NO WAY a Downing Fan...
Ok. I'm not sure what it is about Downing you don't like, so I'll tell you a little about the character he plays in the movie. A little like Downing off-screen. He plays a rich genius (at least as far as building high-tech weapons is concerned.) He's a womanizer, drinker, and gambler with a very casual attitude about everything and always surrounds himself with hot-babes, fast cars and high-tech toys. What's not to like?

But if you don't like fast cars, fast women, high-tech gadgets, explosions, beating the bad guys, all wrapped up in a stylish, fun, tongue-in-cheek package, then you might not like it.
Oh, and there's also a lot of very funny/clever dialog.

It's an ultimate guy-fantasy movie. I doubt that it will be very popular with the ladies.
I just don't like Him and rarely like anything that he ends up playing in... But I said I'd give it a chance...

I have to agree with Dr. Paul; Iron Man was the $#it. What surprised me was it was directed by Jon Favreau, the director of such movies as Made, Elf and Zathura (Jumanji in space). Definitely a fun movie.

As for Robert Downey Jr, he happens to be one of my favorite actors. So, Bafitis, I'm just going to add this to the list of things we disagree on and call it a day with that. *chalks one up to the scoreboard*

Yeah, I feel like Robert Downey Jr. is one of the most gifted actors that hollywood has ever seen but seems to always trip on his own errors in his personal life and so his career seems to suffer sometimes because of it. To be honest with you, I probably would not have any interest in Iron Man if he wasn't in the role, but since I know he is the main character, I am kinda jazzed about checking it out.

Iron Man was very fun. Didn't care for Bridges though, I think they could have picked a better actor for that part. But I've always been appreciative of Robert Downey's abilities, I hope he's come out on the 'other side' as far as personal demons go. I think I was one of the only folks I know to watch 'in a scanner darkly' in the theatre.

I remember A Scanner Darkly, wasn't that the animated movie with Keanu Reeves?

That movie was great, except it took a couple times of watching it to understand. The plotline on that one was out there.

Animation purists wouldn't call A Scanner Darkly animated. But it's a fine point. A Scanner Darkly was done in rotoscope. That's where the live action is shot with actors and then the images are traced and colored frame-by-frame. In the old days, by hand, nowadays on a computer.

The movie was definitely great but, as you say, a little difficult to understand. Fortunately, it was based on a Philip K Dick novel of the same name, and the movie follows the book pretty faithfully. The book, of course, being a novel instead of a short story, had quite a bit more depth. Anyway, you can read the book and it helps to make a lot more sense out of the movie. At least for me it did.
I saw A Scanner Darkly in the theater. Definitely thought it was a unique movie. The computer animation that gave it somewhat of a cartoon feel made the whole thing seem surreal, which really went with the plot. The dialogue was really well written, and the actions of the characters strung out on their drugs was entertaining.

Yeah, I knew it was some kind of new fangled animation process, because I seen them use the same style on like some kind of insurance commercial. At least that answers for me how in the world the animation can look so real.

Got any Toy Story fans in the crowd???

They are coming out with a 3rd one... Not due out until 2010 though and who knows what delays could come up between now and then... Not really sure where else the story could go, unless they jump in the future and have Andy pass his toys down to his own kids...

I love the blooper scenes. If you're a toy story fan, you know the ones I mean. Just love'em!

Also, I just got home now from seeing Iron Man. Great fun! Real popcornflick!

And thanks for the advice about sticking around after the credits. I see they went with Ultimate Nick Fury, and not the original Infinity Formula injected black-ops-since-before-the-dawn-of-time hardcase. Shame, I never cared for the remakes.

But - Sammy Jackson is cool, so I'll just go on trust for now.
