I will be stoked if this gets to 25% today! Which we look well on track to do.
Maybe they'll replace the DLC with a PI handbook? :-) Although, that's going to be a lot of rules to think up! We couldn't even come up with that many new ones on Facebook.
I think the reason they didn't offer a PI Handbook was, like the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition, once you make them all up or print it as a 'whole' it limits you. IE; they can't just make up a new rule for the next game because hey, why wasn't it in the book before?

Though in theory they might be able to make the book look incomplete, like some pages had been ripped out of it. Dunno how practical/cost effective it would be though to 'remove' pages in a way that they look removed.
Actually, when you look at the handbook in Overseer, Tex says something to the effect of "...with room in the back to add your own [rules]." So, there would just be a bunch of blank pages in the back for future expansion! :)
And also the PI Rules actually changed from one game to the next too - some overlap!

On top of this... Tex was kicked out of The Colonel's agency because Tex had to do everything by the book, literally. But when Tex starts breaking his rules and eventually throws out the book, that's his decline into brokenness and despair.

So with the rules, he loses. Without the rules, he loses.
He can't win. :|
Hey ho everyone. Holy cow, can you believe these numbers!? :o I am so excited. I gave my $500 pledge this morning. I am going to try to pull strings to get more before the campaign is over. I really want to shoot for those voice mail messages :D And did you guys catch me sitting at the cafe on the kickstarter video!!!!? Too. Frickin. Cool. Anyway, I'll be stalking this widget on my phone all month. Later guys.

Ok, scratch the PI handbook idea! It'd be half empty. :-)

YAY! I got a response about the 5K donation reward in case anyone else is interested in investing at that level.

Hope they don't mind me posting the response here...
"There is no specific date range for the personal tour of the Big Finish Office building and lunch since it is up to the backer to come to Salt Lake City. If we reach our fundraising goal, people who are at this tier will be contacted just so we can know when to expect you! And yes - spouses are definitely invited!"

So, not a big group event, and my hubby can come along if he wants... good to know... Just have to see if I can swing it financially. Ideally, it would be best to go while they are still filming/producing the game! And I'd have to make sure Chris J isn't on vacation!

Just noticed this update in the comment section from Warren Wang:
I just got a message back from AC and CJ that the game itself is actually slated for May 2013. December 2012 is just the date for the incentives, such as the documents and posters.

Aw, that sounds cool! :D

I can't afford it though. I just made a large donation and I really can't afford it either. But it must be done!
I wonder who's doing that Tex Murphy comic book? That sounds pretty cool.

WOO HOO - just hit 25% funded!

*sigh* I hope that the comic book and those new printed editions of the novels might be available later on through some other means... :?

I'd be happy to scan the comic to share.
Actually I'm pretty excited about this reward: "New San Francisco" Faux Driver's License."

OK, gang, I'm in!

Yep, I'm still around. Guess I'm classified as a lurker now. But I lurk daily. Guess that makes me a stalker.

How could I not support my P.I. Pal, and my pals on the board? Hope lives eternal!
