I know how that feels, I'm currently replaying Grim Fandango (twice already!), Curse of Monkey Island, The Dig (currently), Full Throttle (next) and then onto Day of the Tentacle and Lighthouse. Got some spare time and a lot of my friends are otherwise occupied, also the weather has turned september-ish. By norwegian standards that means gray skies, occasional rain, yellow leaves on trees and stiff wind. Perfect to stay indoors, enjoy a nice Baileys, and click through the oldies.
UaKM, PD and Overseer I'm saving for last.

Ah you are in Norway and I am in the desert in US state of California. It has been 115 degrees here of late and it is Sept. We are in for a hot fall!
Well, got Fitzpatricks name to come up on vidphone but neither he has information nor is Lucia and Regan at home! Bummmmeeerrrrr.
Have been going the rounds talking with everyone trying to get info and it is a frustrating go around because everyone is on a different disc! Which means I am disc swapping every time I turn around! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
And still have not found out why Regan is not home! Guess will check another walkthrough to see if I can discover anything new.
Re Grim Fandango - oh one of my favorites of all time. How one can get so caught up in a little old skeleton is behond me. And since I teach ESL at college here, do appreciate the bit of Spanish spoken in the game. I have played and replayed that game I do not know how many times. Want to buy original discs as a friend sent me burned copies and I am finding for some reason they are cracking - have had that experience in other older games.
Another favorite of mine is Zork Nemesis which I replay but have to find a utility to slow it down on XP as it goes much to fast to enjoy.
Enjoy your replays and back to Pandora to see what I can come up with. Any new ideas you have greatly appreciate. If, when you replay the big 3 re Tex. if you have problems, maybe I can help/hint since I just have finished Killing Moon and Overseer.

If you're really stuck I would just bite the bullet and use the hint system. Go back and see if you missed anything - it's never failed me. If you're in Game Player mode, save your game, get your hint (which puts you in entertainment mode), then simply reload your last saved game to reclaim your status as game player without loss of points.

I once played a demo of lighthouse and I thought that game was pretty awesome, though it kept crashing in my then IBM pentium 133mhz

I know... Do you know if this is considered abandonware and available online for download somewhere? I would just love to tie up that loose string in my life ~

I doubt it, it was released on two cd's. Probably available from eBay or something however.
As an aside, I can mention getting Lighthouse to work on a newer computer IS possible, if dosbox is involved. Or that good old floppydisc that Rollojeff once supplied me with for use with PD and UaKM

Not sure what hijole means but frijole means bean in Spanish. I am trying to get Regan Madsen to answer the phone so I can make an appointment with her, get a key and return to Evidence Room to retrieve more stuff needed. She consistently is not at home Tex says and I have run out of options as to what to do here.
I am in entertainment mode and have tried the hint system - it just says to go to Garden and Warehouse which I have already done.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm well when I find out what I need to do to move on you can bet your boots I will keep that nugget of knowledge somewhere for future use!
For now remain stuck - so guess I will return to URU and see how I can move on there in a keyboard/mouse manoever that has me stuck.

HEY HEY SEND UP THE FLAG! Finall found out what I needed to proceed on. Regan at last answers the phone. I fault the WT for NOT being specific at this point - one could wander around for days and not discover what is needed.
You have to look at Malloy's notebook and make sure you hear Tex say he can't figure out the chicken scratches but maybe Regan will know. THEN when you call her, she answers the phone! Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At long last.

It's usually common sense to examine everything you get as soon as you get it... That way you don't end up running around for days over something so trivial... I'm glad you figured it and are again on your way... Good Luck my friend...

You are soooo right. I had done that but I think since I replayed the game and am not using saves games I forget some times to examine things thinking I have done that - but forgetting it is a new game that I have started over. Ah well - live and learn.

Sometimes I'll just review and examine everything in my inventory just to do it... Not a bad habit to do...
Little mistakes happen to everyone all the time, don't feel bad about it... The good thing is you've figured out your problem and are progressing through the game once again...

Ahh. I've been out. But yes, to get Regan on the phone you need to examine the notes from Malloy, like you said.
A general tip is that when the hint system fails to provide anything, and nobody has any new conversation topics, the final thing then is your inventory. What's in it, what's not in it, and what's in it that can be combined with something else. Also, apparently, what have you looked at
Hijole is used a few times in Grim Fandango, I've only heard Manny speak the lines though. But he does use it in frustration, it seems, like:
"Hijole, I'm gonna miss the poisoning."
According to the online slang dictionary thingy I found it's a mexican slangword for "Jeez!". Or rather, an expression for surprise, annoyance and frustration.
Weird, I never found it last time I searched for it. However that was many years ago and slang dictionaries weren't exactly common on the web yet.
Also, glad to hear you're on your merry way!

Well, can't win for losing - was on my way in Pandora and suddenly began having PC problems, then the dreaded blue screen popped up - could not even get into safe mode. Finally had tech out and he discovered a really nasty virus, in fact a mutating one he said. But fortuntely this was not that version.
So he got rid of the virus/ found it had wiped out all my restores! Back on my feet again and tech gave me a couple of good programs he recommended for use with my anti-virus so that I am better protected.
He also recommended Yahoo email as being safer than Outlook Express since many of my email recipients either can't/won't/or are lazy and forward email all the time. Have been told that is a good way to get viruses even though you know the recipients but they do not know they are passing on Malware and viruses.
So it goes - back to Pandora - am at the Roswell place where I am trying to use the dynamite and get back through the laser field before it blows. So far have not made it. May have to give in and use Nilo's saved game even though I would rather not. So it goes.

Forgot to note that my Yahoo address is
[email protected]. Will be keeping Outlook Express open for awhile until I get used to Yahoo. Guess I should access my account here to note a new address?

You don't have to go through the Laser Field to put the Dynamite next to the door... You can do it from the other side of the room and then just walk outside...
Also, if you are still having problems with your CD ROM, you might want to Contact DrPaul and talk to him about Flash Drives... Makes playing the games A Lot easier... No Disc Swapping, a big plus in my book... Also the first 4 games are all on that one Flash Drive, no need to worry about digging around on your hard drive looking for what folder you put it in... Just pop in the Flash Drive and you are pretty much ready to go, just double click the Folder of the Game you want to play and then double click the game Icon and you are playing... Contact DrPaul, see if he has the time and then let him fill you in on the Details...

Still struggling along with this game. Finally had to download a saved game to get out of Roswell and back to Tex's office. Re a WT it seems Tex is supposed to get a fax in the AM proceed on. However, when I download all the day 8 games Tex is in his office and it is nightime.
Therefore can get no faxes and so cannot proceed. Can anyone advise what I must be doing wrong her or which way to go?
