"Tex Murphy - Project Fedora" is now live on Kickstarter.
I don't think the project will fail - it's well supported and there are more things planned in the pipeline to keep the support going.
Project Fedora has got off to a brilliant start, and the closer we get to the target the more people will bid. It has 28 days to make 60% - that's nearly 2% support a day, and at this rate it will get there. It's a huge target to reach, but look how much it's hit so far - we could be on the 50% mark by early next week.

According to Kickstarter's stats from a year ago, 93% of projects which make it to 40% funding ultimately succeed.

7 hours to achieve 40% under 3 days. I think we can realistically target 50% under 7 days, with the week-end and all. We'll barely need 10k per day to make it afterwards.
I'm really hoping for some additional press once it reaches the 50% level. The radio silence does feel rather odd. I didn't exactly expect IGN to plaster it on their front page, but you'd think the press more naturally akin to this kind of games would be more vocal about it.

It's not even 11 hours yet and I've gotten thousands of impressions (hopefully SOME of those at least glanced at the ads) but more importantly I've gotten 21 clicks. Not bad for approximately 3 dollars. If only ONE of those people bid it was well worth it.LockeCole wrote:So I just tried a bid on Project Wonderful and it's already in effect, quite interesting. Gonna blow some spare change and hope it makes a difference.
A shame that Kickstarter doesn't have some kind of affiliate link program like Amazon that at least lets you keep track of how much you raised, even if you got nothing from it but stats. Then I could know just how useful it's been.
I'm over my fear that it won't make it to funding, now I'm just wanting it to go insane and make like Double Fine money so that it can be the best Tex it can be. Thanks to everyone for their help and support in any way shape or form to get the word out for Project Fedora.
Thanks for your efforts LockeCole. Project Wonderful sounds like a good idea. I see it a lot on webcomics and other sites. I think there a lot of gaming webcomics out there or comics that reference gaming. So could be a good audience. The amount of clicks you've gotten sounds good for the amount of time its been up.

It seems good. It's around 40 clicks last I looked. I just wish there were a way to know if it's doing any real good or if the people clicking the ads are just thinking they're earning the site revenue by clicking it. Since I can't I'm basically gonna keep it up until I don't get any clicks anymore or I can no longer afford it.Sai wrote:Thanks for your efforts LockeCole. Project Wonderful sounds like a good idea.
