AC chat update

Alex, I totally agree with you (and am not going to hijack this topic with the "Wow" topic)... Although it appears that you are a very determined optmist, and I can respect that.

Glad to hear it, Cubase.

My question: If someone, let's say, won a lottery and came to you with $10M, could you make the kind of TM game you'd really like to?

No, I haven't won a lottery, and I don't know of anyone who has, but if AC said he'd jump right in to make the kind of new TM game we all want, it sure makes a good reason to buy lottery tickets! It seems Tex fans, like the man himself, just can't find good luck, even if we step in it
I´ll try a few questions / suggestions:

An OFFICIAL TEX TIMELINE would be great. It could lead to many speculations in the chat.

Also, it’d be great if you fill some gaps in the Tex Story. These are some I’m really curious about:

1) What happened just after the end of UaKM? I mean after watching Overseer that scene could be HILARIOUS: Tex dancing with Delores Lightbody and suddenly Sylvia come in Tex’s office!! How did Delores react, why is Sylvia back, may Tex forgive her?

2) What about Tex’s family? We know the last family reunion was 15 years ago. Is there any trouble between Tex and the rest of the family?

3) What happened between colonel Dobbs and Tex?

I know there is many people with more Tex knowledge than I, so make your plot questions, please. They are always fun.
Buy another lottery ticket, Ikon.
I wish you luck.

Hey Ruben,

That are VERY interesting questions :)
Maybe someone knows some answers ?
Actually, as long as we have some questions around here, I guess I'll go ahead and post one that has been bothering me for a while. Maybe I'm just a dork and I completely overlooked it, but does anyone know who the voice on the other line of Holodate in PD was supposed to be? Where Tex calls up and the guy says "Holodatin' service, what can I do for ya kid?" and Tex says, "Aren't you supposed to be-" and the guy says "Sure am Kid."

Maybe I'm just overlooking the voice from classic movies, but does anyone know who exactly that guy was supposed to be?

Do you not know the voice of God when you hear it?

The PD novel says that the character on the screen is supposed to be Humphrey Bogart. In the game, the line that's supposed to give it away is "Here's lookin' at you, kid!", though I will say it's not the best voice-acting job, possibly due to Bogart & his phrase still being under copyright at a company other than Access at the time.

Here's what the novel says about the scene. I figure it's okay since Jim posted it on our old forum:

I thought it over for a minute, then punched in the number. After several rings, God himself appeared on the screen. Bogie.
"Holo-Date Service. Here's looking at you, kid. What's your pleasure?"
I was tongue-tied. I knew it was a hologram, but the authenticity was overwhelming. "Well, I...uh, don't know. I've never called before."
"Tell you what, kid. Let me know who the dame of your dream is, and we'll go from there."
I didn't even have to think about it. "Well, I've always had this thing for Jayne Mansfield. And Brigitte Bardot comes in a close second."
Bogie flashed me his dog-eared grin. "I like your style, kid. And this is your lucky day. Since it's Tuesday, we have the two-for-one special. When should we send 'em over?"
I experienced a sudden twinge of excitement, the likes of which I hadn't felt since ninth grade. "Give me about fifteen seconds to freshen up."
Bogie took all the billing information from me and asked if I had any questions. "No. I just want to tell you, Bogie, I think this could be the beginning of a--"
"Yeah, yeah. You know how many times a day I hear that line?"

Hope that helps answer your question!

Hammerhead,

Thanks for answering the question. I always had thought it was Bogie, though I had never known for sure. Anyway, know there isn't a doubt in my mind.

Jim,

Can you fill us in about the AC chat.

Do u think we have enough questions we can submit to Aaron Conners?
Are you schedulling the chat with Aaron Conners (and/or with Chris jones) ?
Image
It appears that all questions will be forwarded to AC this week so he has time to answer them before Aug. 6 chat. Will any other actors be involved with the answers? Sorry, don't know.
"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"
Here is a question I have for Aaron.

What is Chris Jones status? Does he still work for Microsoft?

And does Aaron really own the rights to Tex now?
How much time do we have left to ask questions? Let's say till Friday
- Jim - is that OK ?
