Dane Cook is okay... I prefer the Comedians that don't laugh at themselves though... Bill Cosby {I haven't seen he out and out laugh maybe a smirk or something}, George Carlin {I've never seen him laugh at his own stuff}, Sinbad {does some chuckling though}, Mel Brooks, Robin Williams {does very little laughing but does do some}...

Oh yes, I did like him and I do like Ellen Degeneres. I also liked Richard Pryor when he was not too far over the edge. In his movies he of course never was and the expressions he used to get on his face were so funny at times.
Was in a soul food restaurant one time in LA when he and a girl came to eat. There was no VIP sections as it was a small diner type place, though famous for its food, and they placed him at a table directly behind where I sat. Could not get up from my chair without having him move. But what struck me was how thin and nervous and tense he looked - think he was a troubled man.

Carlin was excellent tonight as usually...
Can't believe I forgot the Trio of Comedy... Jeff Foxxworthy, Bill Engval, & Larry The Cable Guy...
Pryor was pretty good, was an excellent team with Gene Wilder...
A lof of people don't like him, but I miss Richard Lewis... I liked him...

What woud we do without our comedians. Re Benny Hill, he was English and either people liked him a lot or hated him. Seemed to be no inbetween. And I guess for me a little off color talk etc. is OK but when it becomes the main ingredient of their delivery, it just gets old. Natural humor about everyday things in life never wears out. And it takes special kinds of comedians to deliver such and be entertaining.
Benny Hill was hilarious...still to this day he did the best impression of Kenny Rogers ever...he looked dead up like him...I was crying when I saw that...Richard Jeni was funny too...he's gone. Still, it's Bill Hicks for me all the way. Very satirical and a very obscure view on life, but what's funny, is his view on life, I found myself agreeing with a lot of things he would say on his albums. I recommend getting your hands on any of his cd's..excellent work.
"Some men aren’t looking for anything logical. They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.”
Gosh missed Bill Hicks - will have to be on the lookout for his albums. I also liked the series the Pink Panther with Peter Sellers (sp?). This kind of humor is really funny I think. He also did one called The Party which no one seems to have heard of/seen nor do I ever see it replayed. It is the funniest bit about a very fancy party to which a man goes, played by Peter Sellers whose is an India India. He just does not understand all the cultural nuances that go on during this party. Some of the situations in which he gets involved is just hilarious.
And another type of humor I just loved were the two The Gods Must Be Crazy movies. And the sequel for a change was every bit as good as the first one.
Is this forum appropriate for such discussion as we seem to have gotten off the subject of Tex M. and future etc.?

Hey, from what I can tell since I've been a member of this site is that no topic is off limits. I liked the Gods must be crazy..although, the first time I watched it was when I was like 7 or 8 so I didn't "get it"...but I went back and watched it again later and it was funny. You should also check out The Smothers Bros album Sibling Revelry...pretty damn funny

Oh I loved the Smothers brothers and have several of their albums on tapes - dates me. Will have to look for the Sibling Rivalry one now. Just got back in from doing a small bit of gardening - here in desert we have stone yards.
Say do you remember much about how to use Dos Box for Tex games? I had it all done once before I stopped playing for this foot surgery and now have to go back and recall it all over again. I want to get back to playing the 3 games I have installed. I have the instructions from Quandary site but as I remember I had to struggle to finally get them set up and running - like hit and miss, try and experiment. I have all three Dos version too from 0.65 to 0.71. As I remember I was using 0.70 and since then 0.71 came out. They keep improving it so maybe will not be such a struggle to use though not sure where to find instructions for the latest Dos Box.
Any ideas/suggestions?

Nilo is the man. He helped me a ton when I was trying to get all my stuff working. He's very helpful and very patient with you if for some reason you are having trouble getting your stuff going. Do you ever listen to A Prairie Home Companion on NPR?
