Actually I was careful not to just outright conclude that drugs are the cause of death (although I heavily suspect that they were). I remember reading that the cause of death is unknown and is subject to autopsy. So whether the drugs themselves did it is still a mystery, but, her lifestyle choices of late certainly wouldn't be of a surprise if they did cause the death.

A saw a clip of her performing at the grammies a while ago..... this is going back many many years.

I don't know if it was to be her comeback or if it was the final nail in the coffin that ended her career.

All i know is that I remember it was a train wreck.
She sounded terrible, she could barely stand up and she looked emaciated.
She looked like a crack head in all sense of the word.

It was quite sad.... i think people lost respect for her and that was the end.

She sure used to be able to sing though.

I don't wanna be harsh at all, especially since Whitney Houston just passed. But my viewpoint is simple....you make the choices in your life and you have to live (or die) with the consequences. Was Whitney talented? Absolutely, and her music and her stamp on the music industry will live on forever. But, she was definitely troubled and on a bad path that she couldn't get off of.

I was watching Anderson Cooper last night and he was talking to Dr. Drew, and Dr. Drew was irate. And I don't blame him for being upset, because he sees it more than anyone else. People getting themselves addicted to prescription medicine and relapsing over and over again and then putting yourself into situations where you're surrounded by people who just want to ride on your coat tails or capitalize off your name when you're still battling your demons....it's ridiculous. Especially when you're a celebrity, because you have the success and you have the means to take care of yourself more so than the average joe on the street, and yet you piss it all away, and for what?! Instant gratification from drugs? An escape from reality or problems? Geez. Gimme a break! Case in point, Dr. Drew brought up the fact that she had just relapsed, I believe, last May and went through some tough rehab, and just recently, she was at a club performing, partying and toasting with champagne. YOU'RE AN ADDICT!!! Why are you performing? Why are you drinking? You should be healing yourself, not trying to make a comeback! It's quite hard to make a comeback on your career when you're dead!! GRRRRRR!!!!

Just blows my mind the rationale of celebrities who put themselves into these situations. I'll get off my soap box. Bleh.

I find it very sad and there are no excuses to be made. You control your life and you are responsible for your choices.

I remember her from the 80s when she was in her prime and her voice was so spectacular. She could have gone onto be so much more.

All that talent wasted.

R.I.P., Andy Griffith.

I grew up watching The Andy Griffith Show and Matlock. He was a pretty darn good actor.

Andy Griffith also made a movie titled "No Time for Sergeants", haven't seen it in a long time but remember it was one of the few movies that had me laughiung out loud. Recommend watching to anyone that gets a chance. He will be missed...
