Having DLC at the 150$+ tier may deter lower pledges, and lets face it, we NEED them.

You really think so, even though the pledge also gets them everything in the previous reward tiers?

DLC is the new three-letter f-word (along with FMV)

They should remove DLC or make it non game content (not that I know what's left to give...).

I personally will be donating enough to get the DLC, but I'd hate to think we are losing backers over this :(
100% agree. If anyone talks with Aaron or Chris please bring this up, hopefully it makes them change it to DLC free because yeah, they're biting off a lot more than they can chew with this move- its very bad to do this for an indie developer and given that production has only just started its too early to be talking DLC.

I love the idea of DLC's for higher pledgers, but I think they should have made the DLC's available for the 30$, or the 50$ tiers. 150$ is too much. I hope they'll change that.

Also, I'm sad the physical copies of the books are at the 750$ tier. I can't afford to pay that much money. 500$ is the higher I can pledge!

Yes, I believe 150$ is a LOT of money (I know it is for me), but people who just want to pre-order a new Tex game at the 15$ tier shouldn't feel they get an inferior product due to missing DLC.
I can't stop smiling, the totals go up...and up...and up!!
Way under a single day, too. Woot!

don`t worry, it will slow down

Yeah, I know everything's a show down.

You've got to remember that if more things are offered at lower tiers it (1) deters those willing to spend more and (2) means that they need a higher total to offset the additional costs of extra material.

Remember we're not paying for the DLC stuff - we're paying for a game. That's what we're excited about.
David
but DLC`s featuring more game play, extra rooms, and 'Easter Egg' - and it`s a part of the game
limiting it to those who pledge $150 minimum is a big mistake
shadowrun returns devs also wanted something like this, but fans protested

I'm only referring to DLC with game content, nothing else.
Also, we are probably in the minority, most people will see this as a 15$~30$ pre-order for the next Tex game, and as such when they discover the DLC with additional game content at the 150$ tier might not pledge at all thinking they are getting an inferior or incomplete product this way.

DLC is much hated amongst gamers, and we don't want to get people ticked off on Tex and losing backers...

its mostly a case of.. Get the bloody game out first.. then we'll talk. And I beleive that'll be the stance of most gamers. DLC has a bad reputation as is... Pre-Launch/release/preorder-exclusive DLC is pretty much loathed by everyone- so best avoid it.

Once the game is out, they can go nuts with DLC all they want.. I welcome it. But yeah, doing it so soon.. its a mistake.. I'm relatively fine with what they've got planned.. it could've been worse.. but that DLC thing has to go, it sends completely the wrong idea and creates a lot of concern that the game won't be released complete.
jesus! $50k almost already.. its doing well.
Anyone else having audio/visual synch problems with the video?
