We'll need balloons, a ski mask and a shotgun.

A sense of urgency wouldn't hurt either.

I can provide the Ski mask and shotgun. Don't ask why I have them. :-p
I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.
We will also need a piece of string, some legos, three paperclips, a tractor, that feeling you get when you fall in a dream and startle yourself awake, a couple of flare pistols, a DeLorean missing it's right blinker and a peartree chemically free of partridges.

I'll bring the flashbangs and waffles.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Well I also have the DeLoreon, but it ... oh wait ... *SMASH* .. yeah now it's okay. What did you need it for again?

As soon as I get the balloons, I'm organising a rally

I don't understand how a game like carmageddon can get that much money.

The originals were fun, but they were far from spectacular in my opinion.

They were just one of those time waster games you would play for an hour here and there.

They were not nearly as emersive as tex where you could play the entire game in one sitting and wonder how you lost 5 or 6 hrs or more.

Why can't we get that much money for a far more superior game??

i guess this is a matter of opinion.

Actually, you just answered your own question. See the quote i've highlighted. The gamers of Kickstarter have made their choice. Sadly, it's that simple.

torn out and flying at your windshield - eyeballs were quite spectacular

I'm guessing it's for the same reason that Call of Duty: Black Ops made almost the most money in gaming history (if I remember correctly) ... we're just in the minority in our adventure game love. Too many "instant gratification" gamers out there.

Yes! Looks like that GOG promo is helping.
(Ruri_Ayanami from the old Tex Murphy ezboard).

I bought a bunch of ads on some sites last night. Maybe that helped? (Or maybe not? Who knows?)
