I think the most confusing part about the story was that *spoiler*

the sephiroth running around the first part of the game and the one that killed Aeris was a failed clone, much like the other cloaked zombies walking around. The real one was the one that fell into the lifestream and solidified in the giant materia in the crater when cloud defeated him at Nibelheim. I missed this the first time.

The story is extremely convoluted and is hard to make sense of.
I am sure Crisis Core might help with this, on the psp, but I still haven't gotten around to playing that one yet.

Spoiler for FF7: I've heard that it wasn't a clone. But a astral projection of himself that can manipulate its surroundings. Using the same kind of powers Jenova gives him that allows him to manipulate Cloud from afar. The Sephiroth who attacked Tseng walks in and out of walls I think and at points flies. And well when he stabs Aeries he kind of comes out of nowhere up in the air lol. But of course it could just be a interpretation/theory and the clone thing could be true for some occurances as well.

The game has aspects that is still being theorised and discussed even today. Kind of like how some films are interpreted many different ways. Which I think is cool. The only thing I've never fully liked is when a film or game lets you openly interpret the ending. SPOILER for FF7 Ending:
The whole "did the humans survive" thing at the end of FF7 in this case. Many thought they should of just left it open like that but I prefer to know what the creators had in mind when it comes to the finale of a story. So I was glad to see the Advent Children film wrap that up.

SPOILER for FF8:
When I played FF8 I hoped that it would be sure to have a conclusive ending and at first when the credits rolled without showing Squall or Rinoa I was like nooo then relieved when they showed that final bit after the credits. I really liked that ending to FF8.
I am sure Crisis Core might help with this, on the psp, but I still haven't gotten around to playing that one yet.

I think those games (Crisis Core and Before Crisis) just add more backstory, sort of like a prologue back when Vincent was a member of the Turks. Also for more about the part where Cloud and Zack become friends and have to escape Hojo before the story of FF7 starts there is the Last Order animation. I haven't seen or played any of them though because I don't own a PSP or a mobile phone that can run games like that, and just havent gotten around to watching the animation. But if you just want a plot summary there's some good abbreviated ones around on the net for FF7. I had to read a plot summary online for FF8 to understand all the time travel stuff, main villain's motive and who was related to who and all that.... I've forgotten it already though

Dunno if you've already played all of them but there are 10 MegaMan games plus a lot of spinoffs. Dunno if anything new is coming out (according to Google some were planned but cancelled or delayed).

In Japan there are even more games including Rockman poker 2012

And over in MMO land (aka South Korea) a slowly developing Rockman Online:

Yeah I think I've covered all the MegaMan games... I'm fairly certain that I still own them all as well... The only time I'll get rid of a game is if it gets broken someone, but I usually try to replace it...

Well there's MegaMan, along with a few other classics...

Spoiler*

I like the astral projection theory better. It works much better. Then, one can say that the cloaked jenova zombie people were not clones, but failed experiments and the only true successful ones are cloud and the sephiroth in the crater.
