I really can't thank you enough for your expertise, and for all the time you have taken to compile such a comprehensive list of what I needed to do. I couldn't have done this without you!!!! Thank you again and again!!!!!

Well, when I start-up my PC, or do re-boot, I'm given the option to boot to either XP or Win 98. And that seems to work just fine. So now I'm a little confused as to what I would need the 98 boot disc for? Should I not be getting this option to boot to either drive? I have tried booting to both XP and 98 (several times) and it seems to be okay. So please let me know if there is something I need be aware of.

Well, I do have a yellow symbol (exclamation mark) next to Network Adapters. And when I try loading the driver from the RestoreCD it can't find it - "driver not found". Any suggestions?

Other than the above mentioned, everything else is working at 100%. And I'm sooooooo happy and excited now that I can start setting up all the Tex Murphy games!!!!!!

First of all, can I just thank Cindy H for making my dull, annoying and uneventful Sunday much brighter. I'm really glad it worked, although I'm unsure how you ended up with a boot menu after that...

...anyway you're MUCH better off that way - to tell the truth I've not had much XPerience (*groan*) with that OS anyway, I've always been a Win2K user. So, if I read you right, you now have an OS boot menu at system start with the option to boot into the XP drive or the 98 drive? Good. That saves the bother of making another floppy up.

As far as the network driver is concerned, if the driver isn't on the driver disc you mentioned, give me the name/model of the network hardware (modem, ethernet etc) and I'll post a link to some Win9x drivers for it.

The next step is to configure the AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files in your 9x root for Tex (the DOS CLI is what I'm most familiar with). Post back with the contents of these files and we'll take it from there!

Well, that was my own fault - All I needed to do was use the correct RestoreCD! Wow, that was really stupid of me not to realize that sooner. Now that I used the right disc and was able to install the driver, everything is now A-OK!!! I also installed the Dos drivers for my DVD drives and mouse without any problems. I installed UAKM and configured Digi and MIDI using the auto detect feature. And, YES, I'm now playing UAKM the way it was meant to be! And I'm happy to tell you that it runs absolutely great. So now I'll probably be up all night helping Tex on the case.
