Updating old Tex games

Right, but not a good example of game play. I think the Roswell section and a conversation would be best. I'll ask AC which conversation tree he thinks would be the best example to show.
Well it's all fine and dandy that you're back. But I had to cancel my Blade 3D subscription because you didn't get back to me.
My personal opinon for DEMO is based on why I bought UKM and then next Tex games.
I get a Cover CD of local gaming magazin, there was a PD DEMO with Cinematic advertisement of UKM. Based on the DEMO and very good made cinematic I run the same day to the shop and bought UKM.
So I supose to do it same way, do not try to find out what was found out before.

If will be this project real, the console version is necessary, power of console market is so strong, that future of Tex realy possible and developer will have a lot of money for NEW Tex.
Wii version is necessary for potentiol of control, there are Tunguska, Runaway2 and developers plan new stories for Wii.
Wii players are more closer to play advetures than PS3 and X360 players.
Amount of sold Wii is more than PS3 and X360 together.
Here you can find sells in last month (absolut Wii domination):

Actually i've been playing a lot of Nintendo DS lately have been thinking that with a little bit of Homebrew it might be possible to convert the Tex games to DS Format. It certianly has the hardware for it.
Speaking of the DS. Maybe you could use elements from the Phoenix Wright games which is an adventure game series that involves interrogating people and investigating crimes etc. One of the gimmicks include dusting for fingerprints using the stylus, I haven't played the most recent game which probably uses the stylus even more )previous games were ports where as the most recent one was specifically developed for the DS I think). Also there are parts where you have to see through peoples lies by finding and showing evidence to the contrary to break them down (Psyche Lock). Its a pretty popular series (I love them), the humour in the characters and dialogue helps a lot towards the games popularity I think and Tex Murphy has a lot of humour.
(Ruri_Ayanami from the old Tex Murphy ezboard).

Good idea Sai... although the female characters in TM need to be 200% more bucksome so fit with the whole Phoenix Wright style lol!

Yes, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney is an Awesome game... I own all of them for the DS... I rarely play the DS, but I have played Phoenix... Came in handy when I was in the Hospital a few months back... Comes in handy whenever you go somewhere that you'll know you'll be sitting and waiting like Dr. Appt. or such...
I could see Tex in a Format like that... But could something like Pandora be put onto one of those little game cartridges??? Or would it have to be reduced to more of a cartoonish style instead of the FMV???

This is terribly off topic but I felt like sharing that I giggled uncontrollably after reading what I thought to be "with a little bit of Hebrew it might be possible to convert the Tex games"

Roswell is a surefire for a demo. It's the one "level" that features by far the more interaction with the environment, has a splendid chilling mood and is moderately difficult. It also has the great advantage of really not revealing anything.

As for a convo, honestly I think I'd just use the intro with Fitzy hiring Tex at the Brew. No interaction there, but it lays down right away both the seriousness and the silliness of the game and sucks you right in.

A console version of any Tex game would would an unbelievable joy. I'd buy consoles I don't have specifically to play it.

It would be cool also to see better-quality video. I always wondered what UAKM would be like with better color.
DS Tex would be a rather smart thing seeing as there are so many other detective games on the DS. Hell the 3D engine in the Tex games looks exactly like the 3D on the DS. The only issue would be space on one of those teeny tiny carts. Could you imagine Cart swapping?
DS could support a Demo presented as a full game (such as the first investigations of UAKM, who can be taken and played separately). The goal here would be to revive the interest, not start a new market.

I don't know much about the DS capacities but the only way I see of playing the full games would be to upload the "Days" one by one on the machine.

Unfortunately the only way that Tex DS could work is the illegal way - homebrew. Someone would need to emulate the game, this would also require having one of those 8GB chips plugged into the DS. An official cartridge based Tex would never happen simply due to the space capacity issues.

Although I could see Mean Streets and Martian Memorandum working well...
Is this idea still happening or in the works??

Hey guys, Me again :D So you guys are trying to re-do the old games? Well I've considered building a simple prototype of tex's office in a few months to test if I can successfully build a game with a new engine I'm working with, I should be able to make something pretty close- its just finding the time to actually do it that's the hassle. Further more the guy asking for money.. Umm dude you might actually want to I dunno GET A GAME DONE before you buy the rights to the FMVs lol- otherwise we've got no evidence to suggest you are actually serious about buying those rights.

Further more I'm interested in purchasing the rights myself entirely, if you can provide me with any information with reguards to contacting the right people and getting me some kind of price quote then I'll consider possibly investing in remaking Under a Killing Moon to begin with.

Provide me with the information on the rights and I'll look into it ;) and I'll get an engine and a prototype ready. :D This is something I have to do anyway so its probably best I hit 2 birds with one stone and make a Tex game. I have to learn this process anyway.
