I always thought the break for shows was for the writers & other staff to have their annual holidays like everyone else in the world. Over here they don't show desperate housewives in school holidays which is all to do with ratings. Usually from nov - jan there is nothing on the box due to being a non rating period.

well looks like they are all out of the barn now.
so guys you wanted to see sophia, well how did she get into the barn. Had a feeling we would find sophia dead but very surprised about the barn.

With all the building up, I really expected to find Sophia alive and for her to have a chip on her shoulder because of the abandonment... But it looks like someone and bit that chip right off of her shoulder...
The reason I expected her to be found alive was because of the number of children involved... Now it is only Carl, he has no one he can hang out with and relate to... He is going to be forced to grow up all too fast because he will have nothing but Adults to relate with...
But I suspected something special was going to happen when they lingered on the barn after the last Zombie was dropped... I kept saying no in my head, but I already knew the truth before they even showed her shoes...
This is going to end up drawing Carol and Daryl together... I actually thought they were going to kiss in the stables just before he threw the saddle...
And Shane is becoming more unhinged, Dale should have pulled the trigger when they were alone in the swamp...
Well we are on ice until February... At least Hershel has had the wool removed from his eyes, or at least we hope...

I haven't been hugely impressed by the acting on this show for the most part, but the Sophia scene has to be one of the best they've filmed so far.
Excellent work there.
The crotch grabbing shot the previous week made me cringe and recoil (blech), but maybe it's cause I detest both of them. And this absurdly gross little love/hate triangle with them and Dale.

Oh I agree, it was definitely a great scene, regardless of how I felt about it being Sophia as a Zombie...
What's even sadder about that scene is that when Sophia was first casted on the show she kept saying behind the scenes that she hopes they don't make her into a Zombie...
Yeah I didn't care for Shane from the beginning {just rubbed me wrong some how} and this whole "Bad Girl" thing they are doing with Audrey just isn't grabbing me either... So the 2 of them definitely deserve each other, now if they would only runaway together has they were planning all would be dandy... But we all know that isn't gonna happen...

shane should the one getting the bullet in the head, the way he was carrying on ripping the barn apart I actually felt sad for the walkers.
However did I read somewhere that the comics had the walkers breaking out of the barn?

I thought Shane or others would kill one or more of the barn walkers, but I figured that the walkers would escape and then get killed. I did not see Shane breaking into the barn or Sofia being in the barn. That raises the question of who was living in the house that Darryl found. Was it Sofia before she got bit or was it someone else?
In any event, the second half of the season should prove interesting.

Well they were stuck out on the Highway a good 3-4 days before discovering the Ranch... So I believe that it was Sophia that stayed in the burnt out house that Daryl found... She probably dropped her doll at the creek because she was being attacked and then eventually turned and then Otis found her and stuck her in the barn... Since Otis is no longer with us, I doubt we'll see a Flashback as to how it all went down...
So if there is clarification in the Comics, some enlightenment would be welcomed from any of the comic readers...
Yes I'm interested to see how Hershel handles his new found site given to him by Shane...

Overall, it was an amazing episode.
AMC did this with a lot of their shows this year.... slow build up to a great climax.
You forgive the slow pacing earlier in the season for the great climax.
I feel that the second half of this season is going to kick into high gear though.
I had only one complaint about that episode.
I don't like how they censored the Sophia kill shot.
All the other walkers had brains flying everywhere.
At that close of a distance, there should have been a huge splatter and you could tell it was censored because there was nothing at all. Just the sound of the shot.
I felt that due to the far distance of the camera, they could have gotten away with a lot more.
Now a close up camera for that gun shot would have just been cruel.... i wouldn't want to see that with a child anyway... but from far away, they could have made it a bit more realistic.
Overall, though, intense and amazing.

I agree with you, but it is against the law to show a Point-Blank kill shot of a child... Which is why they had to film it the way they did...
As for the brain splatter, I'm not completely sure why they shortchanged it... Might have something to do with the same law...

The ending was so sad. I almost cried. Then... BOOM! End of first part of season 2. But seriously so much stuff has happened. As I am watching this season, similarities to a book read by almost everyone in their school years comes to mind. Lord of the Flies. It all started with the shockingly necessary murder of Otis. You can see the evolution taking place individually with each character if you watch closely. Everyone knows the world isnt the same and the lines between the darkness and light are becoming more and more blurred. Its just gonna get darker and darker from here on in.

Excellent, I cant wait to see the rest of series 2. Its going to be interesting to find out how Sophia got into the barn. The family on the farm must have know she was in there, and they were hiding it from the group, even though they knew everyone was still looking for her.
