The last film you´ve seen and your thoughts about it
Last film i´ve seen was The Departed (again).
While other Scorsese movies like Taxi Driver or Raging Bull belong to my alltime-favorites, i can´t say that about the Departed, though i definetely enjoy it quite a lot.
Gangs of New York was the first Scorsese film i´ve seen that i really disliked, so Departed was WAY better from my point of view.
The only problem i still have, when seeing DiCaprio in a Scorsesefilm (not saying that he didn´t do a good job), is that at times i wanna yell out "WHERE THE HECK IS DE NIRO???"

Just saw Gran Torino.
What a great film. It was funny and tragic at the same time. You don't see that with many films.
The ending was also totally unexpected.
Clint Eastwood's performance as a crusty old Korean war vet and Detroit auto worker are stellar. I'll always remember the line "Get off my Lawn!"
He kind of reminds me of my father-in-law a bit.... Although my father-in-law isn't that racist...

Just saw W.
Oliver Stone is mad. And needs two in the back of the head.
That's the last film I saw and my thoughts about it.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
I hear good things and then I hear bad things about that W... I guess it is one of those Left or Right movies, no Middle... You either love it or you hate it... I haven't seen it yet, but I've got it on my Netflix list... I have no expectations of W one way or the other...

So Freepizza? What did you think?Reading you guys hype has made me go ahead and rent Taken on Netflix. I have it in, so I am going to give it the old watch very soon.
Saw Bruno. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. If you are easily offended or even the slightest bit homophobic, DO NOT SEE THIS FILM!
If not, then definitely see it.
I can't believe some of the stuff he does..... He is so lucky the terrorist didn't shoot him =)
I am not saying anymore, you ll have to see it to know what I am talking about.
Anybody else see it? Anyone offended? or did anyone think it was hilarious?

Rewatched the whole harry potter series so far and saw the new one.
Not as good as the last one, but still very good.
It felt like a setup movie for the final two installments with lots of history of voldemort.
The romantic comedy stuff was actually quite funny... Ron making up most of the laughs.
There was a feeling of dread throughout the entire movie.
Just this uneasy feeling..... like something really bad was going to happen.
The ending was very surprising too. Big twist.
Also recently saw What Dreams May Come.
Very strange and amazing movie.
Was also very original and touching. An interesting portrayal of the afterlife.
The scenery in the movie was nothing like i have ever seen.
Hell gave me chills... definitely represented as a place I did not want to go. Just an overall great movie.

Watched "He's Just Not Into You"... It's not a bad movie, but come on... Hollywood really needs to find a new edge other than "Everyone ALWAYS Lives Happily Ever After"...
It bounces around a half dozen different lives, a dozen if you count the opposite sex they end up with at the end of the movie... Each with their own little relationship problems... Just felt like someone took 2 or 3 movies and then found a way to combine them... Just one of those Romantic Comedy Chick Flicks, I guess...
Going to watch The Unborn tonight probably...

Just saw Killshot. Based on a book by Elmore Leonard, the guy who wrote Rum Punch, Get Shorty, and Three-Ten To Yuma, if I recall rightly. Stars Mickey Rourke and Thomas Jane, among others. Good film, I recommend it to anybody who likes a cat-and-mouse thriller.

Just finished up Star Trek V, before reading a few reviews ...
I'm sure there may be some among you that disliked this movie, as the critical community obviously did, but I need to know in your own word ... why?
From beginning to end, although I don't consider it the best Star Trek movie, (I liked fourth one the best so far.) I found it highly riveting.
I actually said out loud at one point "Oh my god, the Klingons killed God." That was an awesome moment.
All of this movie, all the way to the last scene where they sang row your boat reeked entirely of awesomeness.
Was it because I watched the entire series and enjoyed the nuances of all the characters, where most of the movie critics may have approached the movie without watching the series maybe at all? This movie pulled a "tingely" moment on me when "god" actually appeared, and I have said before ... that is rare for me.
Am I in the minority? Is this movie a piece of garbage dressed to look as a diamond, and I believed it to be such?

I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.
You can tell that V was supposed to be an epic story, probably one of the more grand of all the Star Trek films. The problem was the budget. William Shatner who directed and wrote this film has huge plans and created a very involved storyline that only someone who was invested in Star Trek could appreciate. Still, I suppose with the constraints he had it didn't work out like he had planned.
You're right though. For most Star Trek fans, this is an excellent film. The reason I love it so much is the relationship it portrays between Spock, Kirk, and Bones. No other of these films does that more than this one.
Plus this movie has one of the best lines from Star Trek, "What does God need with a star ship?"
As for my favorite movie. You are just coming up on it. Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country is superb.

No, No, No... My favorite line from Star Trek V is at the beginning during the Camping Trip...
Bones: God I Liked Him Better Before He Died...
That makes me laugh every time, no matter what... I can be in the most depressed moods and I will still get a chuckle if I hear that... The whole Campsite Convo was classic...
Recently saw Unborn... I would have made my comment about it earlier, but I lost internet service here at the house... Unborn wasn't too bad of a flick if you're into the Thriller Suspense type... It was a little on the short side though, only an hour and 28 minutes long...
I know it's been out for awhile, but Taken is next on my list, I haven't seen that yet... I've got Obsessed coming in the mail, hopefully tomorrow...
