Yeah, I got those kinds of thoughts with MGS 2 Sons Of Liberty...

True, Guitar Hero 4 is going to have the Subtitle "Aerosmith", but at the same time it will supposedly be designed so that you can create your own songs... So you don't have to play just Aerosmith songs, you create your own...
So just because it is Pre-Loaded with Aerosmith, there is nothing saying that you can't load the entire White Album if you want to... That's the Beatles for those who don't know...

I don't really care for Guitar Hero at all myself... My son and Wife seem to like it though... They've both been told that they aren't getting the drum sets until I get a second house... And I'll need to be that far away if those two start creating songs...

By the way. Dracula Origin is not the only Dracula game being released very soon, there is also Dracula 3 : Path of the dragon( Don´t know the US Date, german release date is July , in France it´s already released). from a different company. You can find the trailer here:
http://www.microids.com/en/catalogue/vi ... ragon.html
Looks nice as well and the music fits very well. Looks like hard competiton on the Dracula market.

Dracula has always been a hard market... Always so many ideas and they usually seem to bombard the market at the same time... A few years will go by and things will be quiet and then all of a sudden you'll get like 2, 3, or 4 movies or games all with a different idea on the Dracula Legend...

Thanks for the info and trailer though... I think I'll stick with Origin for now... Seems like the sweeter game with the current info at hand...

That´s right Dracula and Stoker will never be out 0f date. I just miss the class the Dracula adaptions originally had, so many vampire movies of the last years didn´t interest me ( Like Blade or stuff like that). A vampire as an action hero somehow doesen´t match with my classical view, where it´s about charisma, style, atmosphere etc.
But I suppose you´re right I think Dracula3 looks nice, but I have bigger expectations from :) Dracula: Origin.
As a huge Stoker fan I know both games won´t really impress with that license like you could or create an atmosphere as strong as in the books and films, but still it can be good so I´m looking forward to it.

I agree to a point... While I did like Blade and Underworld and the BloodRayne Series, I can see very much what you're saying... The classic forms of Dracula will always have it's place with me... I really liked the Van Helsing Movie, the one with Beckinsale and Jackman...

By Bloodrayne series I'm hoping you're referring to the games, rather than the terrible movies from Uwe Boll. Anything Uwe Boll touches turns to poo.

Matter of opinion...

Granted most of his stuff is for the dumpster, but I've liked the first 2 BloodRayne movies and am looking forward to the 3rd due to come out next year... I watched the first one because I am a Kristanna Loken Fan... I watched the 2nd one because I didn't pay attention and didn't even realize she wasn't returning as the lead character, but still enjoyed the twist to the Billy The Kid story... Since I've liked the first 2, I'm going to watch the 3rd...
Aside from Alone In The Dark, the BloodRayne 1 & 2 movies are the only ones I've seen that Boll has had anything to do with that I've cared for...
I may not be a fan of most of his work, but he must be doing something right if production companies continue to give him Budgets...

He does do something right. He makes a movie very low budget so that it has no choice but to be profitable. However, in turn he sacrifices a good script, acting, special effects...

Also, you're the first person I've ever heard of that's defended Uwe Boll. In fact, there's a thread somewhere in this forum about a petition to stop Uwe Boll from making movies.

At no point did I defend Boll... If I remember what I said, and it's a little hard not to with it sitting there in White Text, I believe I said, Aside from 3 of his movies I haven't cared for anything that he has done...
So just because he uses tactics that most people don't agree with, means I have to have the SAME Opinion on Movies as everyone??? I have to say that the Roman Empire is Dead, no one has to think the SAME WAY or be killed...

Yes I know the Thread you are referring to, Cub created it... And I said the same thing in that thread that I've said here... No one seemed to have a problem with it then, I don't know why you're going to try and Crucify me now, over 3 movies nonetheless... Or is it because my Opinion doesn't fit the Norm??? Everyone needs to be a Carbon Copy???

Here is Cub's Thread...
http://www.unofficialtexmurphy.com/mess ... hilit=Boll

And I signed it... Though it doesn't lead to the Petition any longer, it leads to an Interview with Boll about his movie Postal...

I have no feelings for Boll one way or another... I normally watch movies because of who is in them, not who is behind them and if I like it, I'll watch it again, if I don't I won't... I watched Alone In The Dark because I happen to like most of Slater's work, I've already stated that Loken is my reasons behind watching Bloodrayne... And I'll say it again, I wasn't paying attention and didn't even realize it wasn't her in the second one until I watched it and didn't see her name come up... I was puzzled, but watched any way... It was an interesting twist to the Billy The Kid Story... And if I might add, Natassia Malthe isn't a bad looker to look at either...

Say what you want though, I'm not going to argue about this with you... You have the right to watch what you want... I have that same right... That's why there are Video stores every other block and Netflix and Internet Downloads... We have the Right to Choose... So enjoy that Right and go watch whatever you want... And let me do the same...

For vampire movies you say you've like Bloodrayne, Blade, Underworld and Van Helsing. Have you liked any vampire movies that actually had a well written story, rather than two hours of special effects?

And by defending your enjoyment of a film, you're defending the man that made it. It's implied reasoning, which won't hold up in a court room, but we're not in a court room.

Exactly, you're implying nothing but BS... I'm not defending anything, I'm simply stating how I choose movies to watch... You on the other hand want to argue over it, pretty much the same thing you did in another movie thread, just because I watch movies with the lights on, implying that the way I watch a Movie is WRONG by Any and All Standards... I WATCH MOVIES FOR THE ACTORS... I don't know why I need to say it more than once... I've liked all 3 of the Pirates Of The Caribbean, but I have No Clue who Directed them or even wrote them... But I like the Actors and therefore I like the Movie...

I don't need reasons for liking a Movie, as I said before, if I like it, I watch it again, if I don't, I won't watch it again... I see previews for movies, over 90% of the time it doesn't say in the 30 second preview who Directed or who Wrote it... It shows a few scenes... If I like what I see, I get around to watching the movie...

As for your other comment, I have an Extensive collection of classics for Vampires, Werewolves, and Frankenstein... Movies, probably only a few people on this board have heard of or seen, but put almost anything you can think of to shame story-wise... One of my all time favorites will always be, Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens, also known as the Terror Of Dracula... Even though it was an unauthorized production it was still an Excellent movie... Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter, is a good movie to watch as well along with Carry on Screaming... Now if you like a little Sci-Fi mixed with your Vampire you might enjoy The Terror from Beyond Space...

I do understand that there are a great many people behind the scenes {and in many cases am grateful for their efforts to entertain me}, but there is a reason that they are behind the scenes and the Actors are in front of them... I don't have the time to go researching movies until I'm blue in the face just to pick and choose based on the director or producer of the movie...
I watch movies based on 2 major factors... Who Is In The Movie... And What I May Have Seen In A Preview... Do I give the people behind the scenes the credit they deserve, probably not, but all that does is make me like about 80% of movie watchers... At least I'm honest about it... I don't have the time to worry about what goes on behind the camera... That is why those people have jobs...

Vracar wrote:Have you liked any vampire movies that actually had a well written story, rather than two hours of special effects?
Do you actually READ or do you just Skim the posts until you think you have something to make a person look Foolish??? By not reading and trying to accuse someone of something that they've already said otherwise to, you end up looking kind of foolish yourself...

I pretty much state right there that the Classics will never be replaced... The conversation at the time didn't really involve the classics... I was simply telling VonGlower that I enjoyed the Action Packed series they had come out with in recent years...

Now for this conversation to go any farther is pointless... You're not going to change the way I watch movies or enjoy movies, Nor does it make Me Wrong in any way to enjoy any movie in my way... And for you to try and pick a fight over it is even more pointless...

I'm not trying to pick a fight with you. All I want to do is discuss the finer points of the movie. That's it. But whatever, it doesn't matter.

The finer points of which movie??? You were accusing me of being a Boll fan just because I liked 3 of the dozens he has made... I'm not a Boll fan, but I am a fan of a few Actors he has used... Like Slater and Loken and Natassia Malthe {now that I've seen her in a couple of things}... Those are the only movies of Boll's that I've liked... BloodRayne 3, however may be going too far in the series... Especially, since after some research, neither of first 2 have past their budget in revenue...

Postal, however, has gotten some good reviews from the critics and media... I was rather surprised at this since normally Boll is bashed by both...

That petition has slowed a lot... I signed the thing back on the 9th of April and there were 152,482, I just signed it using my wife's name and email address and there are only 282,661...

Here is the Link for the interview where they talk about Postal being a Good Movie...

Here is the Link for the Petition for anyone who hasn't signed it yet...

Racer, no hard feelings??? {extends hand} :)

Anyway, if we could turn this back into a Game Thread...

Von, what's the word on new releases, have you been given any to test and review recently???

This month we were busy writing classic reviews ( Working on Phantasmagoria2 right now, I still love that game)for a huge classic update ( And a Lucas Arts feature report) in the end of june. The reason for that was that it was a month without new releases. But there is a new wave on the way right now. The middleage adventure ( a lot of references to "in the name of the rose" The Abbey was released over here a couple of days ago, plus the futuristic crime thriller Goin´ Downtown was also released a couple of days ago.
Website for the abbey ( It´s the german site , but doesen´t matter when it comes to screenshots): http://www.theabbey-game.de/news.page.htm
The Abbey comes from the same publisher as A vampyre story and there´s quite some people having very high expectations to it.
Next week Dracula Origin will follow and a comic adventure named Edna breaks out ( I´ll write the reviews for Dracula and Edna). Edna is gonna be something a lot of the Lucas Fans might like, it is VERY oldschool. Two people from our site did betatesting for the game and they love it. A month after that Dracula3 will be released and as far as a blockbuster goes Secret Files2 will be released in august. A vampyre story is officially gonna be released in september ( Wouldn´t bet money on it, but it should be closed to being finished). Then there will be Mata Hari by Hal Barwood ( Indiana Jones3 and4), Memento Mori and a game that might appeal to fans of games like the longest journey: The whispered world. A very melancholic fairy tale.
And there´s gonna be quite a lot more of adventures towards the second half of this year.
More and more adventure games being released, very nice to see.
