In any other thread I would make light of how the Polaroid was indeed a step forward for mankind's struggle to contain singular moments. But somehow this thread brings out the calm and the respect in me. I guess it's not so easy to crack wise when we're silently trying to mourn. Even if we didn't know them personally.

And it's good to see you posting still, Jim!

As always, you make a good point, Fred. This thread has no room for levity, just respectful, if not fond, thoughts of those who are no longer with us.

Sad news indeed. His life was a great story of rags to riches (well, sort of riches). He was great in The Green Mile and I liked him on The Finder too.

Morgan freeman - well he died last week on the internet, but he is not really dead. some sick son of a bitch made a facebook page stating he was dead.

I'm so glad this is not true

I heard someone tell me this at work. I told them they were full of it. Glad to see I was right.

I am still amazed by how some people (a lot apparently) think it's funny to try to trick or embarass their fellow humans. How this makes them feel better or superior is still beyond me. I actually think it makes them appear weak and desparate.

He will be sorely missed when he goes.

His voice is everywhere now, although I will always remember him as the voice of Visa.

Kind of like I now think of Purina Dentisticks when I hear David Duchovny's voice....
well... that and Mulder, of course.

Apparently everyone thought Bob Denver, aka Gilligan, died recently too... and he died 7 years ago.

Has anyone else been watching Through The Wormhole with Morgan Freeman??? Very informative show, I've enjoyed... I believe he is 75, or right around there... Yes he will be missed when he goes... Hopefully we get another good 15 to 20 years out of him, if not more...

Russell Means, "the chameleon" from the the "Under a Killing Moon" game, passed away today (Oct 22nd 2012). In addition to doing some acting, he was one of the greatest activists for Native American rights of our generation. He'll be sorely missed by many...

I found out about his passing from the homepage on my computer, Yahoo.com. It has a news section and a most searched section. Recognized the name and then remembered he'd been in a Tex Murphy game. Apparently had throat cancer for a year and chose no hospitals. A great loss to the native Americans, to us all.
