The Walking Dead...
I don't know about Randal's group, but Merle will definitely be in Season 3... If not they might as well let us see him dead, because if he isn't in season 3 then they are just dragging his story out too much... Same goes for that black guy that Rick parted ways with in Season 1... They should really bring him and his son back into the show...
As for Hershel, I'm sorry but I think him and his son are both Lunch Meat... Hershel says in clips for next week that this is his farm and he'll die here... I think both of the daughters will make it out...
T-Dog is a very low key character, they either need to step up his role or put him down...
I think Carol might go down in the Finale...
Rick, Lori, Carl, Glenn, Maggie, Andrea, Daryl, and Maggie's Sister are sure survivors I think...
Everyone else is fair game...

That's one reason why it's called the Walking Dead. Everyone left living is infected. I for one, am excited that they will meet "the governor" for Season 3!!!!

Oh I know they'll have to leave the Farm... I think the show would turn a bit stale if they remained at the Farm...
I think it was just a fluke by scientists or whatever that released something into the air and it has infected everyone and unless your brain is damaged when you die you will become a Walker...

I'm just hoping it's not the wrath of God or something. I hate it when they try to make literal deus ex machinas. Also, it feels like a cheap, lazy solution.
More likely though, we won't know what the exact cause is. Because it's "not important to the ongoing story", I'd wager.
Personally though? If I was writing the story I'd give up the goods on how it all began at the climax of the story. I detest loose ends, and I want the audience to come away feeling like they've had a full meal, nothing less.
But that's just my own preferences. Some people like a bit of mystery, which, for some stories, is okay.
I just think that when the characters within the story start wondering about it, and they don't get to find out, the audience feels cheated. One of my rules for storytelling is; if it's of interest to the characters, it's of interest to the audience.
And I don't like to cheat my audience.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Well, there goes my theory. I figured somehow some people were infected and that, because it is a brain disease (or at least starts there) if affected their behavior. This would explain Shane's actions (at least partially) and maybe that of the gang that they battled with. I guess the reprehensible behavior is just down to human nature.Jen wrote:plumgas wrote:well last nights episode was a eye opener, but did I miss something. How did shane turn

While I love the show and loved Season 3, I have to say that I felt like the Season Finale was more of a Filler Episode, even though the ending was the Cliffhanger I expected... Definitely looking forward to Season 3...

Filler episode.... really?
I thought it was one of the best episodes all Seasons besides the barn one and the one with Shane and Otis at the school.
It didn't feel like filler at all to me.
I felt like there were some this season, but it wasn't that one.
If you want an example of a filler episode, check out breaking bad's episode, The Fly, in season 3.

It had decent action, not trying to say it didn't, but the individual groups had their conversations and discussions and they just felt a little dragged out, like they were sticking dialog in just to chew up time because they couldn't think of what else to do...
Then they had Lori flip out on Rick over something she set in motion... Think back to the conversation they had in the Tent the one night... She was basically putting the seed in Rick's head that he would have no choice but to kill Shane eventually... And now she is going to get all mad at him for it happening...
I just like that Daryl found Randal and figured out that he was killed by Shane, it least Rick doesn't look like a complete coldblooded killer... Because if Daryl and Glenn hadn't found Randal then it's possible that no one would have believed Rick...
Rick was right to flip out on the group like he did, but I think they could have done it a little less psycho like...
Going to be a long wait to Season 3... At least The Killing is coming back...

The real reason their attitude towards Rick in the end wasn't so much the action its self but more the way Rick was saying what happened and how happy he was in doing it. Before he described that he was forced to kill him he tells Lori that he "wanted him dead" and kept that same attitude the whole time that eventually became worse and worse. I just kept imagining that Rick killed that which he became. Rick in a small part at least saw the value in Shanes words when Shane was saying that Rick puts Randals life above his familys, so when the time came and he actually did kill Shane he had to embrace what he did not see before. The need to impose his will upon the group! He has SO turned to the dark side. May the dark side be with that Sith.

Yea, I have to agree with you about Lori getting pissed at Rick.
I felt the same way.... WTF??? was my reaction.
Personally, I can't stand Lorie.... I think she is a complete moron.
As far as Rick becoming the way he did, I think he is just sick and tired of people undermining him. I still think he is a bit different than Shane... he gave people the option to leave. I don't think Shane would have. He would have killed them before letting them walk away. I mean look at what he was going to do to Rick or what he did to Randall.
I guess we will see if Rick still has a decent side in season 3.
