Hi guys
Since there has been so much interest in a Tex Chat I thought I would go ahead and host a chat on August 6 2005 at 11:00 am Eastern Standard Time US.
At this time there will be no Access folks in attendance just us Tex fans, but I thought a warm up to get everone started might be cool.
I know this isnt the best time for our overseas Tex fans, its just about impossible to get the right time for everyone. That is why I am calling it the Western Hemisphere chat, not that those fans down under or in the UK are not invited, because they are certainly most welcome. Its just going to be hard for them to attend at the hour selected. I will be scheduling a International Tex Chat later in August that will specifically accomidate our friends overseas.

Anything Tex-related is good news. Since i never participated in such event i am looking forward to do it. It would be nice to see all the fans who are still keeping the faith as it is. I hope it would be informative and especially fun. I certainly hope i can make it, first i need to figure out what time the chat is in the netherlands. 
I'll see if I can make it. I always like out chats.

Wouldn't it be later in Poland? I think that 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight is 5 p.m. in Poland. And although the post said that the chat was scheduled for 11 a.m. Eastern Standard, I am assuming that because it's in August it would be 11 a.m. Eastern Daylight; but let me know if I'm in error.greenender wrote:It's 5:00 am in Poland (so also in the Netherlands)

I hate it that we cant make it better for our friends overseas. That is why later in the month I plan on hosting another chat that is better suited to them. Of course everyone is invited to both.
And no, there are no Access folks slated to attend the chat on the 6th, this is basicly a chat among fans, a way to meet and greet and talk Tex.

My only suggestion.... is that if the chat does happen on Sat the 6th, that we adjust the time a couple hours ahead for our special guests. I'm sure that a pack of rabid fans is a little hard to take at 8 or 9 in the morning. I am certain they are going to need some coffee, or a couple of shots of the good stuff... before then.

That the Q&A session goes orderly by the host (whomever that may be and I sure as heck don't want the job) feeding the questions to the guests rather than a noisy free for all. No creepy monopolizing. We are all adults here.... (with one or two notable exceptions that I will not mention by name)

Good thinking Jen... I am sure the time situation is completely up to the powers that be... but in terms of moderation of the Chat... we could have a 'user to host to guest' format like we did with the most recent Aaron Conners chat... on that particular occasion people privately sent their messages to myself, and I placed them on a list and sent them publically one by one to the guest to answer.
I do not mind doing the task ot moderating this time around either so that everyone else has a chance to freely talk.
Anyway, we'll see how it goes.
