#1157... special enough!

Well this is post #1157... why is this significant? Well, no reason, but I figured it was high time for some mushy stuff:
To all members of the Tex Murphy community, young and old, veterans and newbies... I know it goes without saying that this is probably the most amazing community on the web, but I will say it anyway!
Over the past 9 1/2 years which I have been a part of this community (yep that's right, and some of you were here before me!!... Jim was actually 12 when he started!) I have come to realize that friendships are one of the most important things in life. So powerful that they can break geographical bounds and bring people together... but I think it is what brings us together that sets us apart. We are all special in out own ways, but we share a common interest... not only that, we have a zest for life, an understanding of the importance of kindness, and an unspoken appreciation for those who we interact with on a daily basis.
When I first began here I was pretty much feeling like a small fish in a big pond… but despite these apprehensions, it was the people of this community that really made me feel I was a part of something… something big enough to span globally, but small enough to feel the warmth of kindness. Years later (and god knows how many posts later) the warmth has only gotten stronger.
So on that note, I guess this is a big thank you to every member of the community for being who they are. There have been very little incidents, and even during controversial times there has always been an underlying respect for the integrity and good intentions of others.
This is a place where I come to chill out and talk to my friends, share the latest news, whine about the absence of Tex Murphy, and ask for advice (which in recent weeks I have appreciated greatly, re: the film, and advice on drawing, so once again, many thanks!).
I am proud to know each and every one of you…

You are a sweetheart… through and through. You are kind, caring and have a heart of gold. But you also know how to hold your own up against anybody. I think of you as Chelsee actually. Same characteristics indeed.

You were the very first person you welcome be 9 ½ years ago, and I will always remember that. You have consistently been a bigger brother to the community and it’s hard to not respect your unwavering kindness and sense of humor… you add that special flavor to the community that would not be the same without you.

A pillar of the community, and man of many talents. You have provided us with a vehicle to interact and we remain the strong friends we are today because of your efforts. Don’t ever short change yourself by saying you have not done one of the most important and rewarding deeds for the community.

You have a wonderful sense of humor and it always feels to me that you are always looking out for the best interests of everyone on board.

Mr technical… not only are you someone who understands when somebody says “Can we softmod the GPU to enable 4 extra processing pipelines, this enabling extra pixel shading streams?†(something even Bill Gates would be “Khe?â€) but you provide valuable advice and assistance, and always head the call!

j/k mate! I consider you the ideas man... whenever there is a new concept or we are talking about an idea you always provide some interesting and though provoking input. A cool guy who is a techie at heart.... who is also my favourite skeptic!
And I'm happy that I can bring a laugh as well as some topical relevance. I'm also happy that I remembered to wear pants and fed myself today. I don't have lofty goals; so, I always seem to meet them. Like that, I just finished a sentence. Wow, that felt pretty good. It was a compound sentence at that. Neat.
