What was your favorite non-tex adventure?

I am curious what was your favorite adventure game that isnt Tex?

I think for me its a tie between

Sam and Max
Space Quest III & IV
Monkey Island
"Monkey Island (1-4) was my favorite non-tex adventure, Mc.

Grim Fandango & Full throttle probably. The LucasArts team really did work wonders! Sam & Max: Hit The Road was pretty darn good too.

If I had to choose out of more recent games though I would say Mafia... it's more of an action/adventure though.

Can't say I have played any Monkey Island or King's Quest games though. I did have a tinker with Police Quest 1 & 3 though.

I miss the days where game magazines would have the latest adventure game reviews

I still have never had the chance to play 'The Dame was Loaded' though.

Although I am not finished with it yet, Runaway is looking like a real winner.

Characters are interesting and the game is fun.
Yeah, Mafia was very good. The Czech guys really create good games (also Operation Flashpoint, but this was FPP).

For me it was more Adventure than Action. It was really very good.

As for pure adventure, does Anybody remember PQ3 , or Larry 6?
Larry 6 was cool (with the fantasic midi music :)
Gabriel knight 2...
I have to say that the original Alone in the Dark from 1991 holds a special place in my heart. I was six years old at the time and that was the first 'real' graphics and adventure game I had ever played; it really took my breath away.

I also have to say that I have a place in my heart for:
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
The Zork series
Black Dahlia

And I'm sure there are others, but I sadly cannot think of them right now.

After Tex, my favorite is Black Dalia and then Zork Nemesis.
Hmm, that's a tough question.

I'd say "Sam and Max Hit the Road" is right up there, perhaps alongside "Curse of Monkey Island" and "Grim Fandango".

Games that get honourable mentions are "Kings Quest 6", "Police Quest", "Space Quest 4", "Gabriel Knight 3" and "Day of the Tentacle".

I'm sure a lot more titles will come to mind after i post this ^^
Well, I think that would have to be Black Dahlia, then Lighthouse.

I would go, original Gabriel Knight, Full Throttle, Phantsmagoria, and of course for campy goodness Dracula Unleashed FMV. (is it adventure or pure cheese... you decide!!)

For those that liked Black Dahlia, try Ripper!
A link Review

I enjoyed this game far more than BD.
Never played Phantasmagoria I or II... I have always wanted too though. I heard they were pretty freaky.

Dracula Unleashed eh? The title reminds me of the Lessslie Nielsen movie "Dracula: Dead and Loving it"

I liked Black Dahlia but the FMV interlacing just bugged me, especially when you have to play it at 640 X 480 on a 22" monitor! It's like watching the game through venitian blinds.
