New UOTM progress update

Hi all,
Just want to give an update on how the new site is coming along. Just today I've made a big breakthrough with the upload mechanism for adding new files to the Downloads section(s). It's not quite ready to show yet, but I'm hoping to have a fully working version ready sometime this week. This will be the last major hurdle to get over before I add a couple new features, and make a few final tweaks. At that point, we'll be ready to go live with the new site! We're in the final stretch!

Can you add a function to access your Private Messages that's not flash-related, or whatever it is... I'm using Opera, and I can't read my mails without first sending myself a PM and then entering my inbox from there... Kinda tricky
Just some link on the bottom with all the other stuff would be sweet!
And if not... Oh well
-Fred
PS: Other than that, the new site is suh-weet!

Hmm... I can maybe make it work with a little more information. What happens when you click the link(s) in the header?

Wow... I didn't even notice that the header was flash based. Nice job James. Although yeah itm ay cause problems on browsers without the flash plug-in installed.
Also, just another note are you going to be fixing the auto reszing of the forum width? At the moment, before 100% loaded the width is fine, but then it will get compressed down to about 75% causing signatures (which are on average 600 pixels wide) to resize to a smaller ration, thus becoming aliaised. In general I thin kthe new width of the forum is way too thin.

I agree with them on the non explorer flash plug in thing, cause I sent Cubase a PM on the 19th and he still hasn't read it !!!!
or as Cub would put it......

Back.
In Opera, there is no header. It's not even there. Hence why I'm having trouble clicky-clicky

Hmm, I'd be very surprised if it were a problem with Opera itself. In fact, I'm looking at the site in Opera as we speak, and everything shows up just fine... I'm assuming you have the Flash plugin installed, yes?

If so, what version?

I'm pretty sure it's installed, but I'm not sure if it's working right... Any tips?

Thought I might as well bring to your attention a bug with the site in ie6 - I get white squares as the backgrounds of the buttons (at home I use ie7 and don't have the problem, but my school only has ie6 installed). -Looks like this:

All I can suggest is to download the newest version and install. Something might kick in and start working, you never know...

That's due to IE6's inability to render transparent PNGs properly. There's a workaround for that, which I haven't gotten around to implementing yet, but it's on the list of things to do before launch.

I've been trying to get it to work for a while, but no joy.

I'm a little cushy with PNGs too - though an easy fix would be to change them into GIFs - I think ie6 reads those transparencies alright, though I'm not sure. You'll be fine using GIFs as long as you don't use any semi-transparent images.
