News from the web...or is it?
AARON CONNERS has been a pioneer in interactive storytelling. His writing and design work on the classic videogames Under a Killing Moon, The Pandora Directive, and Tex Murphy: Overseer won scores of awards, including "Adventure Game of the Year" twice. His work as Story Director on 2005's Amped 3 for Xbox 360 was nominated for Best Story, Funniest Game and Best New Character by GameSpot, and won Most Outrageous Game. He is currently at work on two online games — one an innovative "Interactive Narrative" project — and a major, next-gen title for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
"Scores of awards" ??? Hmm.... 40-60+ ???
"Interactive Narrative." Now that sounds intriguing.
Hmm "interactive narrative" doesn't sound like an 'online game' though, considering online games have limited plot due to them having to be generic to give all those people on it the freedom to "Make their own adventure". Plus even if someone did try to make an online game with a plot some bored person would come along and run in circles during an important plot point screaming "U ALL SUXORS"
Perhaps its just 'online' in the sense that the new Sam and Max episodes started 'online' and you download it to play it.....
Oh well wait and see I guess.

That was funnier than hell, if only because it is sooooooooo true. Right in the middle of an important part. Which is why I don't really do the whole mmorpg stuff anymore, really. What I want it to be, it'll never be. I always seen the genre as a place where you could actively participate in a large over arcing storyline, with everyone who plays all the characters being an important part of the plot. But after about three months of Ultima Online when it first came out, it was the stupid leet speak or whatever, and nothing that even resembled a story. It was just stupid grindwork trying to level, and I'm not at all about that.
The greatest time I ever had in that game was calling my character "The ghost of (whatever the name of one of the dungeons was, I forget)" and went directly to the dungeon ... died ... and then, as a ghost I would guide adventurers through the dungeon, let them know what they were up against, and played the part of a pitiful adventurer who died long ago in the dungeon. Man *that*, to me, defined the online rpg experience, and was how I liked to play. As a character in a large story. But it'll just never go down like that I'm afraid. Not the way I vision it. Sad.

I'm not fat ... I'm festively plump.
